Invincible S3 Ep. 2 Reaction [FULL]

Mark is done with Cecil, but tbh I get Cecil's perspective and I cant blame him but he gotta recognize his actions have consequences.

I’ve hated Cecil since day one. Mark is very patient, he should’ve killed that mf long ago. Cecil is too stupid, the implant thing would’ve been smart if he used it against Mark when he was actually attacking humankind, but for a discussion? You’ve got to be beyond stupid to do something like that. Now he’s made Mark his permanent enemy, congrats.

In this case of mark vs cecil i refer to the old saying of In war there are no right or wrong sides because both sides think they are right and both sides think the other is wrong. In my opinion Cecil was wrong for putting the device in his head and using it in that situation he should've talked like an adult. Mark was like Cecil said being a egotistical asshole about DW and Sinclair I do think mark couldve reacted better yes was he going to attack Cecil no Cecil started that fight by not taking into account how using those two as pawns would affect Mark. Oh and putting a device in his head isn't protecting him it's protection Cecil not mark

Cecil really crashed out and used what should be a last resort in case Mark turns over a minor disagreement. All cause Mark said “I’m not leaving.” Ridiculous levels of escalation when he could have just explained his position better. He was literally in the exact same situation before and he held the same view point as Mark even as a grow man….. Couldn’t bring up his dad before you try to beat him to death? I understand his perspective but for someone so smart he handled the situation extremely poorly. And I’m not completely sold on the whole reformation thing. Don’t get me wrong I think some people can change. But I’m almost certain they’re doing some sketchy shit to their brains based on what we’ve seen. Which I 100% do not support.

nah sorry. Cecil lost the plot on this whole thing. Admittedly Mark is being a stupid teenager with his hypocrisy and emotions, but Cecil is the dumbest in this episode by far. Man literally created his own problem by trying to create contingencies for Mark instead of checking Mark and being supportive and guiding him. If Cecil is so good at rehabilitating bad people then how hard would it have been to guide Mark to a better understanding and viewpoint without all this extra bullshit. Self fulfilling prophecy..Cecil makes Mark an enemy by preparing and assuming he would be an enemy eventually instead of doing the thing he is supposed to be good at that was shown in the fucking flashback. Like I will admit I liked that Cecil was using former bad guys, especially if they have a legit rehabilitation program. That is literally a commentary on what our actual system in society is supposed to be about, with Mark having the current/wrong perspective. But Cecil ruins all the good points he is making by being a manipulative ass-hole doing some crazy shit behind the scenes and keeping it a secret.

As far as Ceil goes, clearly Cecil was aware of Mark's personality and realized measures needed to be taken. If he tipped off Mark about said potential measures, Mark would have flipped out saying "you don't trust me" and outright refusing to allow said measures to be taken. Cecil was aware of what Mark was capable of and took action and it just turns out that he was right. Eventually he would need something to keep him safe from Mark. With that said Cecil gotta deal with the results of his actions like Mark does. In response to 1. Mark has legitimate excuses in my opinion, but at the end of the day who validates legitimacy of excuses. Maybe there is legitimate reason to rehabilitate Sinclair and Darkwing. However I am in agreement that Darkwing is more deserving of his second chance. I think Darkwing was killing people because his city was Gotham esc and he just became jaded to the point where he no longer felt like he needed to hold back and follow the law eventually you see enough shit that you say "fuck it." What lead Mark to side with his dad could be seen as irrelevant since Mark tends to not find excuses for others actions relevant. In response to 2. Similar thought process as the first. He still killed someone regardless. He was pushed to his limit in that moment but he's not willing to understand other people with less power (this is in reference to Darkwing NOT Sinclair, honestly fuck that guy but an argument can be made for him not like I would support the argument at the level I do Darkwing) can see some really fucked up things while being a hero and it can break their psyche to the point where they snap. TLDR: Cecil was wrong but right. I still think Mark's a hypocrite because he makes excuses to justify his actions while making no effort to understand that maybe others also have excuses.

I get both sides of the argument. I think Cecil went too far putting that crap in Mark’s head, and I also think Mark overreacted. Maybe if Celcil had been more forthright with Mark by just saying “hey, because of what happened with your dad, we are working on countermeasures against Viltrumites and by extension you, in case you’re ever mind controlled or forced to turn against us or something.” I also think working with Sinclair, rehabilitated or not, is a big moral stretch. Darkwing I get, he worked as a hero for years and should at least get a second chance. Mark has always had a temper and is stubborn. I think he overreacted but I don’t really see him as a hypocrite for a few reasons. 1: he only decided to help his dad AFTER he found out about his brother AFTER he was tricked into going to that bug planet. 2. While Mark did kill Angstrom, he did so in self defense after being psychologically tortured for weeks or months (his perspective) and getting tunnel vision after seeing his mother and brother hurt.
