Ishura S2 Ep. 8 Reaction [FULL]

Uhak the Silent

Ishura S2 Ep. 8 Reaction [FULL]

Uhak isn't deaf or mute, he simply cannot interact with Word Arts, and never learned how to speak with sound.

Word Arts aren't just magic or language; Visitors don't have that. Word Arts are the phenomenon that allows the supernatural to exist as well. Soujiro is clearly superhuman, since it is physically impossible for a human to have that kind of eyesight or run that fast, or deflect bullets, etc. Uhak nullifies anything supernatural and forces everything around him to conform to conventional physics; Word Arts is just part of that category. Like, Soujiro would still have his skills, don't get me wrong, he would just be downgraded to the peak of what is humanly possible. Ironically, Rosclay is a hard counter to Uhak since he's at the peak of natural human capability (even if he is a fraud).

Does Soujirou lose his abilities tho? He's strictly a technique fighter, and his eyesight should be an inherent trait of his eyes to perceive weakpoints (since Visitors CAN'T use Word Arts by definition, and were booted out by Earth for breaking its Laws of Reality by being too busted from the standard parameters, so this would imply that they simply happened to be born w/ unnatural physical traits that don't use Word Arts, no? Otherwise they wouldn't have them after all), no?

I think Nihilo survived S1 (makes sense, since she's a fucking Revenant & all that), based on Rieri being listed in the credits, next to a blank/censored role. The True Demon Lord's most infamous ability is basically an AoE Mass Hysteria type of voice/sound, and it makes people literally insane & berserk (these victims of countless races make up a decent chunk of the "demon army", which is depicted as a spreading fire basically in some of the POV flashback storytelling bits we've seen in S2 & S1). So think of being infected like what Linaris does, but sound-based & brainwashing people to insanity if they simply hear it. So even the surviving Heroes who went to boogaloo vs the True Demon Lord, if exposed to the AoE attack, went literally insane, and it clearly persists even after the True Demon Lord was defeated, which makes sense since they are basically mindbroken people, so the supernatural ability or w/e is no longer needed, strictly speaking, because the brain's already fried pretty much as a consequence. This massive AoE insanity ability is the main reason why nobody knows who or what the True Demon Lord was, because the AoE is so large nobody has been able to get within visual range of the True Demon Lord (assuming it has a form & isn't just a supernatural phenomenon like we thought the Particle Storm was before the reveal). It's simple really. The giantess BREAKS THE SQUARE CUBE LAW, and wouldn't be physically possible to exist if not for passive things like Word Arts & supernatural metaphysical passives to keep its body supported (just like how wyverns couldn't realistically fly due to aerodynamics etc, without supernatural inherent assistance). So her body collapses in on itself as it tries to fall within the parameters of the square cube law (at which point the damage doesn't spread any further, once it reaches the limits as the Laws of Physics permit)

Many people expect a seasonal anime to be engaging and stunning at first sight. Ishura provides a diverge-then-converge storytelling that is rough to stay for some viewers, and it maintains a good but not wowing sakuga (and CGI) quality that is less attractive for the general audiences. Some also feel like there's no purpose in the story when there's no a MC in a story. Being on Hulu while not being a major major franchise (for people to not watch it on Hulu) also limited its western popularity as well.

The funny thing is, the anime doesn’t even fully explain what constitutes as a Word Art. The novel in volume one explains that Word Arts are the magic system, yes, but also the very foundation of the world itself. Half the shit we see is only possible because Word Arts allow the supernatural to exist. You know what this means? Alus, Nastique, Mele, Linaris, Mestelexil, Lucnoca, and Psianop just get one shot if Uhak uses his disenchantment because they are supernatural creatures. Belka (she was a giant, not an ogre) was crushed because something as big of a giant isn't physically possible because [insert law of physics here] states it would not be able to support itself, causing a creature that big to buckle under their own weight, but Word Arts make it possible. Uhak turns that shit off, so she got crushed by her own body, which could no longer support her structure. Even the other characters like Soujiro, Kia, Toroa, and Kuuro loose all their abilities. Obviously, Uhak isn't unkillable, but he's definitely not easy to defeat either.
