Speaks multiple languages including English and Portuguese Mariko is married to Hiromatsu’s son Buntaro and makes her his daughter-in-law. Is catholic and speaks Portuguese Fuji is Hiromatsu’s granddaughter whose husband and child are now dead Kiri-No-kata is Torunaga’s wife Ochiba is the heir’s mother Nagakado is Torunaga’s son Omi is Yabushige’s nephew Yaechiyo is the heir Also most of the English dialogue is actually Portuguese but they are just having it all said in English for simplicity

2024-03-08 07:55:23 +0000 UTCIt's not just interesting, it's GOOD they're doing that. In fact, it's a no-brainer. There's no reason not to. It actually would've been trash if everyone was speaking one language or the other. It's more authentic this way (not 100% because technically the English should be Portuguese). Hiroyuki Sanada apparently had the condition that Japanese characters should be played by Japanese actors. Glad he put his foot down in that regard.
