Ngl I did a double take when all the faces turned to go pieces I thought there was some animation bug until the subs started talking about it.

Did some reading and found that the methods for taking off the caterpillar package were varied in different Chinese dynasties. This act was usually delivered under personal pursuit or parental consent for getting the wealth of the palace with lesser function and fame, and it used to serve as a way of punishment prior to becoming an alternative way of entering the palace as well. First and the typical method was cutting off the tip of caterpillar, just the cocoon or the whole package, depended on the dynastic background at the time. (Also the cocoon is important for producing the silk and stretching the caterpillar, but some individuals remained capable of stretching without the cocoon, so it became most effective to take off the whole package after some nasty acts had occurred.) Second method was stopping the blood flow of the cocoon long before it ever getting matured through cocoon bindings, and then removing the cocoon after confirming it couldn't grow anymore.

Lakan don't give a fuck about some fucking NPC, simple as πŸ˜‚ Interestingly Lakan seems to suffer from prosopagnosia, if the visuals are anything to go by. Basically the fusiform gyrus is fucked in the brain, rendering you entirely unable to comprehend faces (shit like nose, mouth, eyes etc simply don't compile into what we call "faces", they just remain as individual components). Actually there's been some studies about this type of shit. A chess player who won a fuckton actually had trained his fusiform gyris to process chess board positions instead of faces, which made him win so fucking much (also as an obvious side-effect, it made it far harder to distinguish faces, albeit not to the level that someone w/ malformed natural fusiform gyrus would have when it comes to faces). There's been tons of studies done about this specialized sub-region of the brain, such as WW2 veteran AA-gunners etc who had overdeveloped fusiform gyrus because of the intense training and life or death scenarios of WW2 air raids etc. There's some theorizing that this sub-region isn't specifically for faces, that's just what 99% of the default users evolve to use it for. Theory is that it basically functions as a holistic processor, where it basically ignores individual components instead focusing on alterations to the collective whole of the visuals in real-time. This makes sense to me given the chess etc examples, because it would instantly let you know how to proceed in chess if your brain automated the comprehension of the entire pattern grid of the board itself in real-time. Other hobbyists where this sub-region has been seen to activate during research brain imaging, are people like bird watchers or when your Average Joe sees a car, which is activated because their brain wants to figure out which model car it is, so it automatically activates the fusiform gyrus to get a whole read on it, kinda like how you instantly comprehend a face from all the micro features (unless you have difficulty discerning faces (this is caused by nonfunctional fusiform gyrus, which is different from a malformed one which basically just shows a blurred void of sorts) of course. Incidentally this face blindness might be similar to some normie who doesn't give a fuck about cars seeing all cars as same-y instead of specific models etc, hence the theory about general holistic processor). Honestly neuroscience is hella fascinating even as a casual hobbyist reader who isn't actually good enough at science shit to be a pro at any rate
