I honestly put the whole pendant situation on the back-burner in my mind because so much else was happening. The only other thing is their eye color, but that's easily missable and it's not like two ppl can't have the same eye color without being related. Someone in the chat saying that they're the only two elves we've met..... that's not a hint wtf lmao. That doesn't mean shit. We've only met three elves in Frieren, and they're not related. XD

2024-04-15 10:22:35 +0000 UTCThe thing that people don't realize until they see this episode is because everyone focuses on Rudy the mage, as a result he is actually very underrated as a swordsperson. He was the students of Ghislaine (a Sword King - which likely puts her in the top 5% of swordspersons in this world - at the very least in the Sword God style, but probably of all styles as well) and Ruijerd, and was a sparring partner with Eris on nearly a daily basis. But not just that, he kept up with his training all this time, as sword training is part of his daily workout routine. Rudy is probably about as advanced a swordsperson as one can get without the ability to use battle aura - and if he could use battle aura, with his massive amount of mana to work with (as that's what battle aura is - an application of mana to enhance one's sword skills), it would be skies the limit for whichever sword style he chose to specialize in.

Yeah we don't know MJ for his baseball especially when compared with his basketball skills, but he was still good enough to play professionally even if only in the minor leagues. Similarly Rudy really isn't a top swordsman especially comparing with the talents that he has been surrounded by like Paul, Eris, Ghislaine etc.. However, when comparing to an average swordsman Rudy has the experience and skill to handle it comfortably.
