I feel like I would have a better time watching other stuff, so I decided to try Girls Band Cry (Friday) and Train to the End of the World (Monday), both of which I will be watching on the days that they air.

2024-05-03 04:06:07 +0000 UTCYes, in most cases the manga is better than the anime. How do you think they could have better adapted the manga? Things are going to get left out no matter how good the adaptation is because just like with books to movies, manga to anime is not a simple thing to do. As far as i can tell nothing important has been left out. This story is also a super slow burn of a romance. Not so much in waiting for the characters to get together but watching their relationship and love for each other blossom. I don't mind the slow reveal of the backstories because it made me want to keep reading the manga. I couldn't put it down. The series is up to 57 chapters and backstories are still be explored. We are still finding things out about the main characters, their motivations, and most of all watching them grow as characters. Sorry this got really long. I just really love this series. Anyways, like I said I get that it not for everyone. Hopefully maybe those that dropped it will give it a second chance later when all the episodes are out and they can binge watch it.

2024-05-02 23:37:11 +0000 UTCif you search girls band cry nyaa subs you’ll find them. another commenter mentioned nakayubi subs and that’s the first google result i get. aniwave has MTL translations, nakayubi has an actual translator. it’s annoying gbc’s not licensed but it’s worth it imo. the music is on bocchis level or better.

2024-05-02 20:01:51 +0000 UTCI just checked AniWave and that version seems okay. At least episode 1 didn't have the translation issues I'd heard about. Maybe someone else can also check it and see if it seems okay. It might have been updated with a better fansub.

That said, I am glad that you picked up Girls Band Cry and Train to the End of the World. I've heard good things about them and am looking forward to watching them. Hopefully you will get the good fansubs for Girls Band Cry. Their MAL scores have been steadily going up week after week. Crunchyroll, HiDive, Netflix, Hulu.... none of them care about it. So I haven't been watching it. Also I really hate fansubs. I refuse to watch any subs not done professionally and officially.

2024-05-02 13:49:12 +0000 UTCI would still recommend Jii-san Baa-san Wakagaeru/ Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again without reacting to it if you had found time to watch, since many audiences were turned off by the MCs being attractive trope on EP1 or the narrative seems a bit sporadic as it was adapted from a 4-panels manga, but the show still got good comedy and emotional scenes along with some decent plot progressions afterwards.
