Vali is saying he wasnts to do a batman vali wants issei to become strong because all vali cares about is fighting strong people so he say8ng if he kills isseies parents issei will want revenge and then he grow stronger vali wants to make issei so hateful that he becomes stronger

demonic-myst

Agreed, Issei did technically tie, but it's really a loss. Vali was chanting some cool-looking chant to power up even further beyond while Issei was de-transforming cause of lack of power. Issei was clearly fighting a losing battle there.

oooh damn I just checked it out there was a stream talking about it apparently. it's called Junior High School DxD 🤣💀 I've read every novel in the series but even I didnt expect this. I actually really wanted season 5 cuz that wouldve been one of the biggest arcs in the story. I've been waiting to see that animated.

Yes and no. They are basically Celtic legends wearing Christian camo to survive the the nutjob persecution of the OG lore instead of being destroyed

Skebaba

They announced "we have something to announce tomorrow for fans of the series" a few days ago and people were like "is it season 5? 😲" and then it was just a new spin off series which was leaked a long time ago. Bruh... just give us season 5

There's definitely a lot of "world building" so to speak in terms of all the different mythologies in this series later down the line. This is basically a world where every type of mythology from every religion exists (Norse mythology and Sun Goku for instance). I wish I could be more specific but I dont wanna spoil what comes in the next few seasons or content after that. I heard a rumor online that they might finally be planning season 5 but nothing was officially confirmed. Hope it ends up being true tho.

I mean, I guess you could say that Issei won... maybe. But Vali wanted to show off his Juggernaut Mode, so that seemed to be a big thing, because even the Dragon said that Vali shouldn't do it in that situation. And he only stopped because Son Goku popped up, and at that time Issei's time ran out too. So Vali could've kept fighting easily but Issei couldn't. And yeah, after the whole Devil, Angel, Fallen Angel thing is pretty much delt with, we get the next thing. From basically Christianity to Mythologies... with Son Goku and like they mentioned the Nordic Gods, so North Mythology. I personally think it's very interesting. Also the mentioning of Ophis the Infinite Dragon, which is think is interesting. Because more and more Dragons pop up. Red Dragon, White Dragon, Black Dragon, Infinite Dragon etc. And yeah not to forget that Vali is crazy overpowered. Being a Half Devil, Half Human and not any Devil but basically a Satan and because he is half Human he was able to get the White Dragon, since just Humans are able to get Sacred Gears. Something I am still not sure about is, if Vali would really go and kill Issei's parents... Or if he just said it to try and "motivate" Issei. Because like the White Dragon said Rage is a very good way to increase the powers of a Dragon and Vali said "Then he might be better suited for a Dragon than me". Which actually makes it sound like it could make Vali really consider to kill the Parents, because he saw how much it "motivated" Issei by just saying it. So if he would actually do it... the results would be greater. But overall I really like the Dynamic. One one side we have Issei, who is just a super average Human but got the Red Dragon who basically can boost your power infinitely and wants to protect. And the other side, we basically have the crazy anomaly. Of basically a Satan which is one of the most powerful Devils with the White Dragon, who can divide powers but is also limited to how much power he can have but just wants to fight to get some fun out of it. It's really 2 ends of spectrum. But I really liked this fight between Issei and Vali, it's so dope. Not only does it has funny moments, with Azazel being like "Hey Issei, Vali is trying to shrink the boobs of all the Girls" But also Epic moments like when Issei absorbed the powers of Vali.

So everything before Sun Wukong and his mention of Norse mythology makes sense if you’re talking about Christianity, Excalibur makes sense because Arthurian legends are primarily Christian hence the holy grail part. And Dragons do appear in the Bible, although metaphorically, and Saint George has a story about him slaying a dragon with the sword Ascalon and that is the sword Issei gets.

Red dragon can lose the fight but not the war
