Instead, he suggests that they should act like husband and wife, and the girl immediately jumps on it.

They don't rly do anything in Nephy's case anyway since Mysticism ISN'T Sorcery to begin with, but more an exploitation of external sources like spirits or w/e mumbo jumbo nature prayer shit it contains when you go down the "mechanics" of Mysticism. Also since the collar broke into 2, it doesn't even work as a mana suppressor anyway. Also Zagan literally stated that it wasn't him that the Shadow (so not even a fr fr Demon, just some auto-pilot answering machine equivalent basically, the real actual Demon that is the fr body is prolly on the other side obviously, just his shadow doing a lil peek like " new number who dis?") was bowing to, but the Archdemon Sigil glowing in his right hand. I mean makes sense a Demon would obey something that's literally called an ARCHdemon Sigil, IMO

2024-05-11 01:29:10 +0000 UTCi also love all the tracks they use as music. it's such a diverse soundtrack, lotsa super interesting melodies and jazzy influences, and most of the time its used very effectively. however, idk why they KEEP putting "dance-y" or quirky songs in places they REALLY don't fit. like they HAVE to STOP bringing out the DAMN xylophone jawn for the dramatic scenes; i actually really like that piece on its own, but it ESPECIALLY doesn't fit in scenes like 17:00 when Manuela's filling Zagan in on how much Nephy missed him. they even let it play thru his guilt-trip! like WHY? just cut it! or use the 2nd half of the piece where the piano takes the forefront and it gets more dour, or use the dark drone piece from the start of ep5 when Nephy was being all "killmeplz", that'd at LEAST highlight how guilty and dreary he feels. the xylophone piece that plays at 30:00 when they first reunite and Nephy's yelling at him fits much more, but like... imagine if those notes were being played on a muted piano, or a string quartet. now THAT'D tug at your heart strings another good example is Zagan talking to Barbatos after the OP in ep 6; the "battle strings" piece with the dude goin off on the sax at 18:36 would've been perfect for that, but the sims-ish song they used makes it feel like a chill exposition scene more than a confrontation, and kinda kills the momentum built up by the menacing EDM track they were using before the OP. in fact, I noticed that the notes of that melody are ACTUALLY the same as the ones in the xylophone piece, and as you noticed, it WORKS! it certainly helps that it's nOT BEING PLAYED ON A DANG XYLOPHONE, so that once-quirky melody is now tense and menacing!!! maybe i just have a bias against xylophones that I didn't realize til today idk also for some reason, it feels like they just think they HAVE to let the songs play out? perfect example: when nephy tastes the lamb stew at 5:00, they REALLY should've made the jazz music cut RIGHT as she took that bite. Heck they could've let it even be a hard cut and either transition to a sad piece or (even better imho) just don't play ANYTHING; make us stew (haha) in the feelings of loneliness and abandonment that she's going thru. In fact, you even comment on how out-of-place that piece is right after saying how much it slaps (it really does slap tbh, so smooth, damn that flautist is killin it i fucking LOVE jazz flute PRAISE JETHRO TULL PRAISE JETHRO TULL PRAISE JETHRO TULL) seriously if i ever get my hands on an... "acapella"(?) version of this show, I'ma rearrange the music placements just to see if the vision in my head is actually realistic or not. also as a labor of love, cuz DAMN are these songs killer. JESUS CHRIST I DIDN'T REALIZE HOW LONG I MADE THIS im sorry
