All i can say is that all y'all aren't ready for what's about to happen.

And joe, the turning point is just starting if you think that this is the turning point, you'll see... I was depressed for a couple of months because of this sh*t.

Ch Cn

I call this "The Depression Arc"

This turning point is a world changing event. It's just that it's only Rudy's world that's being changed. Also Orsted wasn't 'world' changing. The only world changing event so far was Turning Point 1. If you really want to get technical about world changing events, then Rudy's birth should be Turning Point 1 from the world's perspective.

Most of vol 12 can be gotten through pretty quickly. Because it's more description heavy than dialogue heavy. And being hype about the part you're anticipating is good, but not if it sours the moments before. I don't think they cut that much out of the first season or the first cour. Yes, they did a time skip in the demon continent that made it seem like days not one year. But there weren't that many important moments at that point. And yes, I miss that they didn't show Rudy's Aunt at the port city. But they are staying pretty close to the source material. It only seems like it's taking a long time because you know what's coming and you're eager to get to it. This makes everything else seem like it crawls instead of pacing normally. There is still plenty to get through , but a lot of the text from vol 12 can be omitted because it is describing the environment for a long time. One you can show that instead of typing things out, it becomes shorter because you can show instead of tell. And events in Begarit will seem like they go buy quicker because of that. If they did the OP like they did for season 1 where they showed the environment instead of dropping spoiler to make people hype it would go by faster. And at the end an anime is an adaptation of the source material not a 1 to 1 recreation. And this has been one of the most faithful adaptations of a LN in anime form I've ever seen. Honestly, it all boils down to perception. You know what's coming. Most of the people watching don't. So for them the pacing is fine. Knowing future details is both a blessing and a curse. The need to tell each reactor I watch to calm down with all the Eris theories is hard to ignore. Or just keeping my mouth shut when they predict something correctly that doesn't happen for a while. Yes, we know where the story is going, but that doesn't mean we can't sit back and enjoy the ride.

While the other Turning Points were more of a direct action happening and immediately showed their seriousness, Turning Point 3 puts a pit in my stomach and gives me anxiety. Like the changes that could happen on the homefront have an underlying uncertainty that might not be brought up until Rudy's return, nicely out of mind before slammed back into our face. Given it looks like it'll be 2+ years before Rudy returns, it puts a good chunk of time for anything to go down. Being anime only makes the wait nerve wracking.

Honestly, I've been pretty underwhelmed with the pacing of this whole season so far. The way they are choosing to focus on certain parts in certain episodes just feels very weird compared to other seasons. It feels like somebody sat down and decided that from this point on they were going to be more faithful to the source material and try to cut less content but at the wrong time. This stuff they are focusing heavy on is far less important in my opinion than a lot of other stuff they could and should be focusing on. Like I liked the Norn episode it was really well done and probably the best so far this season but did we need an entire episode considering what comes next. Idk I know volume 11 is the longest in the series but I feel like they are stretching it out a lot to "try to build suspense" or something but at this point for me as a LN reader it's killing hype. Maybe this is an L take but it's my opinion. It just feels like they are pacing this like a 24 episode season not a 12 episode cour.

The first two turning points were more physical in nature, albeit with psychological affects. This one is more psychological in nature.. at least for now. Not every turning point has to be a world changing event. I would say that finding out your going to be a dad is well enough to be classified as a turning point in your life.

Yeah like wtf kind of emergency do you solve in a year? Remember how Paul JUST replied to the letter Rudy sent saying he started school?! Geese sent "send help" now how long ago was that? and Rudy will be there in a year at best... idk man this seems sus as hell

Im scared for the people in the dungeon, I dont know why but I just have this damning feeling that someone(or multiple people) significant is going to die soon

One thing i wanted to point out to add to the drama of this Turning Point, this is also the first time that Rudy has went against the advice from Hito-Gami. He’s only been able to get where he is today because he had the Man-God Practically guide him. Now that he is ignoring his advice, things are liable to go extremely wrong.

Saying the turning point is weak not realizing the entire arc is the turning point is peak casual

Yeah, the episode itself as a turning point is not a big deal .. i think its more about what will happen. But its crazy to think that they need such a long time to travel to another continent even with magic

The way I understand Turning Points is it is the beginning of a new story arc and a tonal change in story The story started with rudy growing up, getting a job until the teleportation incident. It was more slice of life. training, getting to know the world, some minor incidents for some action. It switched from slice of life to Rudys jouney through the demon continent. The second turning point incidentally happens right before they get "home", which initiates the second tonal shift of the story. From hard jouney to a drama (with eris) followed by depression and rebuilding his life and confidence as a man. Then after he rebuilt his life turning point 3. He has to leave his family behind to save his mother (and father maybe?) and it shifts from slice of life back to adventure and whatever is going to go down in the continent

I see what people mean now when they say turning point 3 wasn’t just 1 episode thing Which makes me scared

Shane x Masters

Rather underwhelming episode for all the hype it got from a certain someone👀
