The Chill Pill
Added 2020-07-24 06:58:26 +0000 UTCHere's one of those stories that came down and I never got around to putting back up. It was originally intended as a prequel to Tolerance/The Tolerant, setting up the origins of DJ Swanson's power through the exploration of his father's invention of the eponymous pill. I drifted off into other projects after the first four installments, but anyway, here they are. This is nothing new unless you missed them the first time around, but! My up-coming commission is going to operate in this world, so I figured I'd make this available as a refresher course. Not necessary for it to be enjoyable by any means, but ya know. Here they are. Again.

Well, it appears to me that you have no choice but to go back and finish that chapter. It's the only ethical thing to do. :)

2020-07-29 20:53:57 +0000 UTCHey Ice Bear! Long-time first-time. I love this story - and all your work - but is it just me, or is the final chapter of The Chill Pill truncated accidentally? It's only a page and a half, and it seems to end mid-sentence. My apologies if this is just a literary device I'm not picking up on.

2020-07-29 20:48:43 +0000 UTCI'm not sure I ever read this one before? Huh! Good stuff, though. That second chapter is outstanding! Love me an MC story from the perspective of someone who rationalizes the insane things they're doing while controlled. I'm really excited to see what older-and-wiser-and-probably-filthier Ice Bear does with this concept. What's in the first three chapters is... it's like it's just about having fun, playing with an idea, goofing around. It's hedonistic, pure thrills. But, it doesn't really try to do much beyond that. There's more thought put into the effects for the man than the goals of the women. I'm *real curious* what the writer behind Teaching Her A Lesson could do with this premise, you know?

2020-07-24 22:14:01 +0000 UTCHey man can I just say this was an old fave of mine. I particularly liked how the gimmick on this one wasn't *exactly* what would qualify as MC, but you could kinda work with it anyway. This mirrors a lot of real-world engineering in my experience, where progress is not so much a matter of finding a brand-new mechanism that works exactly as you need it and more along the lines of working on an existing mechanism so that it can be used for new things.
