he would have literally been annihilated like that one knight at the start if he had started saying "paralyze" before Civit turned his back on him. I do get the range argument but it made sense to wait until he turned to leave. Would have also preferred if it was before / while leaving the ground tho

He literally said that Civit is STRONGER than the Soul Eater, which instantly beamed his ass when he tried to trigger Paralyze the first time. Civit is thus EVEN FASTER, and could instantly vaporize MC mid-trigger word. Hell we literally see Civit realize instantly & try to turn mid-trigger word to clap the MC, but he can't in time because of him facing 180 the wrong direction, just as planned. This episode actually shows us MC's stats as an E-rank shit-tier otherworlder vs S-rank female. His stats are 3x his level as we see in the status window (with mana being 33x his level). For the S-rank female we saw, her stats are 100x her level. So if the math checks out, for MC's non-mana pool stats, she will reach what he is at like lvl 3k when she hits level 100. Granted it seems the 100x multiplier is only for the main stat, which seems to be STR for her (checks out, since she was wielding that hugeass flail a couple episodes ago or w/e), but you can clearly see that even tho MC has pretty gud stats, they aren't SUPER gud because of his shittyass rank fucking it all up. Add on top of this S-rank unique cheat-tier skills that the otherworlder heroes get by virtue of being summoned to this world vs native ppl's skills etc (discounting the RNG anomalies that are ppl like the Holy Watchers who are progeny of previous otherworlder summonings (after all, they would have only eliminated the eyesore/trouble otherworlders once the demon king or w/e is clapped like we saw w/ the OG Dark Hero etc. She's likely pretty willing to let the A-B or w/e bootlicker type personalities do w/e instead of disposing of them, since they are unlikely to revolt against her even as a possibility as long as they can do w/e the fuck they feel like w/ the pissants in the world), but I assume it's pretty RNG whether or not any offspring of an otherworlder is gonna get X boosted stats vs a pure-blood native RNG stats, skills etc, so Holy Watchers & other potential such groups of otherworlder lineages are likely just cream of the crop of the hybrid offspring over time)

You can see how quickly the main guy turned around, if he tried to do anything to him face to face, he'd be dead after just "pa". Tho I agree it doesn't make sense with the range, it would be better if they went like to the side or something instead of instantly getting further.
