Veldora is technically in his 2k+ years, so he doesn't rly predate them that much. For comparison he's prolly half a millennium or w/e older than Milim, who is herself some 2k years old

Joe is obviously trolling his chat and chat is obviously trolling back. Nobody believes that the only good thing america has is a 10k burger.

I swear the food rants between you and your chat are always some of the worst takes imaginable.
Chat claims that American Food is only fat, sugar, fat and more sugary fat. Meanwhile, the counter-argument is always that British food is terrible.
The USA is massive and has vastly different food cultures between the various states. Same shit is the case for Europe. The majority of French people will probably have never had the Czech national dish (Pork with Sauerkraut & Bread Dumplings, called Vepřo Knedlo Zelo). The majority of Swedish people will have never had a Spanish Paella.
Similarly, most people from Montana probably never had Jamabalaya.
There are huge varieties in cuisines and reducing it to just "10'000 calory burgers" and "British food" is a disservice to everyone.

BTW: The actual name of the fish that they eat is a "槍頭鎧魚", which literally translates to "Spearhead Armored Fish". In Katakana, it's called a "スピアトロ", which is pronounced as "Supiatoro" and means "Spear Toro".
The term "Toro" used here is a term to describe the fatty tuna meat served as sushi. The common varieties are Ōtoro (very fatty toro, literally "big toro") and Chūtoro (medium fatty toro, literally "medium toro").
So it's implied that the fish has Tuna meat hidden behind armored scales and a spearlike head.

What was served at the banquet was not miso, but a consommé-type soup. The kids were surprised because they didn't know he was the nation's ruler. Tiss-sensei was surprised because she'd known him for a while but didn't know that he was a slime/monster.

I was waiting for this ep, this dinner party is one of my favorite moments from this volume. If I remember correctly Shuna kinda pops off on him more and is more passive aggressive about it in the novel which I would have like to see but it’s not a big deal they probably wanted to keep her character more chill still a good show nonetheless.
