Creeps, Ch. 02
Added 2021-11-28 18:45:06 +0000 UTCIn a perfect world, I would have had this done by Thanksgiving so I could use it as my way of telling you all how very grateful I am for all your support and generosity. However, I am also fortunate that many of you aren't from the US and so didn't even think about our little holiday and why I had snubbed you! Win/win.
Anyway, here's more Creeps! We get on with the evil scheme, learn some things, discover some more things, and have a few hair-raising moments. Maybe some moments that raise some other stuff, too? Who knows.
I'll once more bait myself into the trap of confessing I feel like this was a little too scattered, but there's no sense taking it back and trying to do it over at this point. I think I got caught up too much in too many moments, and in making sure the process went at the process's "logical" pace, and so it sort of... meanders? I don't know. Either way, it's not the worst thing I've written.
Anyway, again, thank you all so much for being there for me! More to come.

This chapter is a ton of fun. While not much progress as much on the creeps goals it does a great job of giving us a clearer picture of Kira's character while setting up for future chapters.

Ridiculous, but so *adorably* ridiculous that it sort of tracks. Yeah, this innocent sexpot would totally say Good Grief in embarrassment. 100%. Besides Kira... wait, no, not besides Kira. This whole chapter is about Kira, so that's maybe the only thing worth talking about. (Tell a lie: I will always love Martin making some pedantic correction and Stacey barely restraining herself from punching him in the face. That's my OTP, Martin's face and Stacey's fist.) It's a little funny that you'd chide this chapter for being too unfocused, when it's a choice that works thematically (the Kira chapter should definitely come across a little distracted, a little too talky) as well as narratively. Like, I love how *bad* Martin is at this, while still succeeding. Everything about this scheme is insane, and Martin's low-level-but-constant anxiety about it -- his writerly attempt to reframe this comedy of errors as something more dramatic -- is the perfect tone for this whole series. I love how shaggy of a story it is, how reckless. Another winner!
