The thing about depressed people is that they are either more clingy than they used to or they pushed people away because they don't want to be a burden. In Seokryu's case, she became more clingy or needs constant attention from her ex, because it was their set up from the beginning especially when she went through her surgery and chemo and all. Her self-esteem plummeted, severe anxiety and depression all at once. She was craving for assurance and affirmative that is not alone and still good in her field. This is why she was easily manipulated by her coworker before. Now that she saw what happened to her ex. She is blaming herself, that's why she is not mad at him. Then Choisseung is trying to pursue her, she likes him obviously from the previous episodes but she can't ruin Choisseung because of her depression. That's why she is in the phase right now of pushing everyone around her. She's rather a bear in that cave, total darkness and alone than to drag the people she loves inside that cave and be miserable.

People have been saying that’s really selfish of him to say ‘how could you not tell me?’ But I think Seung-hyo was just devastated that she was going through all that by herself when she could have had him to lean on. And although it wasn’t the way she wanted them to find out, she really needed that hug from her mom. Mom’s hugs are so healing.
