Hyeri is a goated actress, from My Roommate is a Gumiho to May I Help You? to Friendly Rivalry she's so good. Especially her mannerisms and facial acting. 10/10

Artemis Delphinia

And for the music.. there's some part..they (Netflix) changed the music completely..due to copyright

Alya Anuar

For unblurred drama.. you can watch on dramacool because Netflix blurred them due copyright..and they also cut the scene.. i recommend you to watch on dramacool if you wish to continue to react to this drama..

This has been my favourite drama for the longest time until WLGYT came along, my go to comfort show whenever I need something uplifting, excited to see you go on this journey! That ending scene with the carbon monoxide is basically what happened to Geum-Myeong too in WLGYT, but in a less drastic way, seems like that was a common thing in Korea back then. I'm realising so many common themes with Reply 1988 & WLGYT now that I'm rewatching it again with you. That whole topic with parents who dont know what they're doing since it's all a first for them too with their children is the same struggle Aesun & Gwangshik went through, really thought that was interesting how similiar that conversation between Deoksun & her dad went. Also the oldest daughter (Geummyeong & Bora) being a brat to her parents and younger siblings, while caring the weight of expectations on her shoulders. There will be more common themes going forward since this show also focuses on familiy dynamics and relationships very heavily.

About the weird/goofy dad: He's so into skits and impersonating Korean comedians in the 80s. Back in the day, comedy shows (comparable to SNL) were super popular that people would memorize punch lines and catchphrases - they were the ultimate memes. Obviously, Jung Hwan's dad is way over the top, and his family doesn't get him. Also, it's suggested that his wife is frustrated with him because he's not so "manly"; the ladies were chattering/joking about his poor performance in bed, lol.

I never decide what I watch based on length, only based on community interest.

JoeFreshest

its gonna be like 40 hours of reaction if I do continue it lol

JoeFreshest

I hope so.

i just go with what the people want. Specifically in this case i am planning to test My Mister and Reply 1988 on YouTube to see if uploading them is worth it. Many time I start a series and there doesn't seem to be any interest in them despite the show maybe even airing at the time. In this case I am capitalize on the Tangerines hype.

what a nice surprise! since I'm new to your channel, I wasn't sure how you're picking shows. this is a good one! don't worry about the length and about pausing. I love that you're pausing when you're sharing your thoughts. I don't really like it when reactors continue talking and end up missing important parts of the drama, plus, just like you, I'm trying to concentrate on the drama as well as concentrate on what you're saying, so I appreciate the pauses. even the rewinds! it all boils down to, do what you'll normally do when you're watching this on your own. that's why I like your format. you are very genuine. as for the length, I salute you for not shying away from long dramas. I know it's a lot of work for you so I appreciate it. I think skipping dramas because of their length means you miss out on many really good dramas, particularly a masterpiece like Mr. Sunshine. Every episode is almost like watching a movie, not just in length but in the quality of the production as well. hope you check out even just 1 episode of this masterpiece to see if it's something you will like or your patrons will like (it's widely considered a masterpiece so I'm assuming you will get good reception). if not, it's ok too since there are many good dramas out there that may not be at the same level, but still enjoyable.

I was so so excited to see you post this! This is my all time favorite kdrama, and not many people react to it (With valid reason, it is time consuming), but it’s such a beautiful and heartwarming series. I hope you decide to continue it!!

Aryana

Really enjoy your reaction. Hope to continue with you on this heartfelt journey 😊

I rushed as soon as I got the notification because Reply 1988 is THE drama I think everyone should watch at least once in their life AND I was thrilled to see you started it 😭 There is a reason why it's not talked about in reactor channels (it's very long).. but if you're gauging interest, then you'll definitely get a lot of it. It's a beloved drama!

Kyu

it's only blurred out like this on netflix

manonie

I suggest limiting your reactions to hour-long dramas so it doesn’t become too time consuming for you. Since you tend to pause often, a shorter drama might be more manageable. But of course, it’s just my opinion. It’s up to you!

I am just uploading a reaction to episode 1 for now. I intend to gauge interest for this show on YouTube in the next week. If people are very interested I will continue these reactions sooner rather than later. I will be doing the same thing for "My Mister" This should not interfere with our regular Korean drama schedule... I think...
