And I think the endearing quality of these interactions gets lost in translation because, in English subtitles, they seem so rude and disrespectful. For Korean viewers, for example, listening to Deok-sun's parents' bickering is actually pretty funny and entertaining because of their Jeolla dialect and its vulgar and exaggerated expressions. It's so petty and endearing but not insulting or disrespectful.
