Love it...I always love this anime's slow burn. It's like cooking a perfect meal for hours and you sit there waiting wondering when it'll be done and finally bang it'll hit you with the best meal ever...show is 🍳 for real 🔥

He was fired by the current emperor because he noticed how sad his mom & Ah-Duo were (because of the swapperino baby dying thanks to the smoothbrain lady-in-waiting). In hindsight it makes sense, considering Anshi (the empress dowager) was apparently the backer who set up the clinic in the north of the rear palace, as we know when the clinic was first mentioned to Maomao this season.

Those ladies-in-waiting all look a little similar. Maybe they are all sisters, which is why they look different to the Emperor each time he visits. Maybe with a large number of girls, they can just swap them in so multiples get prego. More babies, more for the bloodline. That would be crazy! On that note, Suishi might not actually be in trouble. She could be working with Suirei.
