I think the perspective of the "villains" in this episode was the interesting part. At the start, they believe that there's a clone of "Gwen" out there, contemplating about what would happen if they run into him. Yet, at the end they realise that it's impossible for the same entity to exist twice here, due to the experiment they did with the old man. Now the question is: Was the old man that disappeared the original, or - my assumption - was he the cloned version? The way the "villains" talked about finding him makes it seem that they were looking for the original in order to get him to this Kowloon and see what'd happen to the clone version that they had in front of themselves. Since we know that the "villains" are behind Generic Terra, coupled with this episode, makes me believe that even they don't know what's happening in Kowloon or what Kowloon actually is. Their talk about clones makes me think it's not just a simulation, but at the same time that could be a misdirection and their term for "clones" could actually be referring to the simulated copies. Honestly, last time I was this intrigued by a mystery in an anime was probably when I was watching Odd Taxi. Can't wait to see where this one goes from here.
