I hated Alice… until this episode. I ended up going back and rewatching previous episodes and specifically paid attention to what Alice was saying, and realized that she’s smart… and is highly sensitive to fakeness and has a low bullshit tolerance. So when she first met Lilisa and her mother and immediately saw through them being fake, it put her off. So when she finally saw the “real” Lilisa, she was instantly drawn to it, despite it being the “commoner crap” she always looked down on.

Momma is the real villain of the series. I always knew Alice was going to come around. Alice just hated how fake Lilisa was being, which is totally fair tbh. As soon as she saw Lilly's true personality, she was like, "Ok, so my sister can be cool!"
It's interesting, because I felt like the underlying theme of this episode was about coming out of your shell, and not being worried about making mistakes, or what others might think of you.
The band members mentioned not having to worry about making mistakes because our girls were covering for them & in the director's flashback, he was playing the trumpet outside in the snow. While the limp-dicked half-baked singer was in the class, singing front of everyone. Displaying the director was always afraid to really put himself out there. Which is probably what the singer didn't like about him.
Same as with Alice. She didn't like Lilly, because she thought Lilly was scared to put herself out there. They both came around after that performance because, the girls being their authentic selves, brought everyone else's authentic self.
