For me, since the Competition started it got kinda "meh"... well it wasn't "meh" from the get go, but that was the point where it kinda dropped. -Because first of all, the Badguy (The Girl) covering for one of the other Team, seems to not make much sense. Sure, IF she was trying to get close to Sun Rong and kill her in the competition, sure... but she playing along with the competition. I feel like that makes no sense. -Then the pacing and fights of the Competition felt kinda lackluster, they barely use their Sword that were a big deal before hand, most don't even really fight properly. -Wang Ling beforehand was like "I don't want to participate" and suddenly he is like "I want to win" pretty much out of nowhere, seemed also a bit odd. -The fact that Wang Ling beat up the Girl when he raged... bro, after everything he did to her, she took it like a Champ and was still talking back like nothing really happened. I mean, sure she said "Kill me" but, for him being like this all powerful being and him pretty much going berserker, I felt like she barely took any dmg from it. -And then the last 2 Episodes that come out of absolutely nowhere and where just very weird and confusing.

I think you expected too much from a trash wuxia. Its just chinese version of trash isekai.

Yeah, a lot of stuff here would require an understanding of Chinese Mythology and especially Journey to the West to fully understand. It’s not necessary but knowing it explains so much about the background.

i remember reading somewhere that wang ling was playing a video game, got pissed, and threw the mouse so fucking hard he almost killed a god with it, its what got me to watch when there was only one season, HILARIOUS

TAC Genesis

Having seen season 1 before, I think I understood the ending a bit better now and I can see how someone might be confused by it. How i understood the ending: -> She died -> resetting the world didnt work for her because her spiritual force/soul was ripped apart -> he created a new world but she was still missing -> (since they dont want to actually kill her) she arrived in the underworld but because her ancestors or something are big shots down there and the original world is about to be destroyed because of the mc, they send her back -> now she helps to wake up the MC and reaches him after breaking through his "self-defence system" :D -> now back in the "original" world his power to repair the world doesnt really work and they use the leftovers from the "new" world to rewind the timeline -> the ending with the reporters interviewing sun rong is now the real ending of the competition The rewinding of the timeline and her losing her memories is probably so important to them because the whole thing was a big bonding moment, and the mc actually showed a lot of emotions compared to how he usually is.

This is why you sub that had subtitles showing that her soul was sent to the underworld for "processing" but her ancestors are the ones who run the underworld and the last thing they want to do is send their current living ancestor the one who is currently continuing the bloodline over so to not get into trouble to send her soul back to Sun Rongs body. However it took to long to do that and now the world that Wang Ling created to try to get her back is currently destroying the world that she just came back to life in.

Gabodee .

they were talking about time travelling (also if ya realised later, im commenting this whilst watching), also she was in the underworld, so that was her soul coming back cos her descendent leads the underworld. he'll remember cos he created these worlds and loops.
