Yeah based on the flash of still images when Yato slaved Yukine to himself originally, I think his parents were going to divorce/divorced, and dude probably was too mentally distracted & got run over by a car or w/e have you while distracted from the stress overload

2025-06-23 17:30:26 +0000 UTCI think he's trying to be considerate of his past, which which we've seen flashes of and have seen Yato's strong reaction to seeing it. So we can infer it's possibly a bit traumatic even if Yukine doesn't remember, he still has his phobias like being scared of the dark.

And I'm not sure if the Anime has reiterated the point to the point you've watched, but people who commit suicide have been corrupted already and can't be a regalia/shinki, they're just phantoms. So no regalia has died from suicide
