• The liver is the largest internal organ in the human body and also the one that regenerates best.
Up to 75% of the liver’s volume can be surgically removed, and in a healthy person, it regenerates to the necessary size within a month.
Usually, the liver fully recovers its size and function within 6 months after surgery!
• A Fix-tern(Fixed Intern) is an intern who decides on their specialty before the internship ends, and the department says, “Alright, you’re officially our resident next year!” From then on, they stop rotation finish their remaining internship in that department. So technically, even though he's still interns, but already considered Professor Kim Jun-wan’s trainees!
• For Koreans, “one proper meal” usually means a full setup: rice + soup(like beef bone soup, kimchi stew, soybean paste stew…) +
one main side dish(like grilled fish, bulgogi, marinated ribs) + 2 or 3 small side dishes(like green onion kimchi, cabbage kimchi, radish pickles, braised beans...)
If there aren’t enough types of dishes or nutrients, many Koreans just feel like the meal wasn’t complete!
• In Korea, when someone needs major surgery, they almost always have to come to Seoul.
That’s because most highly skilled surgeons work at large university hospitals in Seoul, and nearly all the top medical schools are located there.
Also, many doctors prefer to stay in Seoul, so fewer top-tier professionals work in rural areas.
As a result, patients from other areas usually travel to Seoul for serious treatment.
This has been a long-standing issue in Korea’s healthcare system, and although efforts are being made to fix it, it’s still a challenge.
• “That GOAT guy” who almost went on a date with Song-hwa is actually played a role in Prison Playbook like the actor who played the lawyer of Seok-hyung’s mom. They're both cameos! 😆
You definitely have to watch Prison Playbook! It’s all part of Director Shin Won-ho’s universe, including Resident Playbook!
