The ending we got is the Good ending (even though most adults are still shitty and the kids are most likely still getting abusive in some way) there was no way for everything to just get resolved without the story getting impossibly dragged out with countless re-dos.

2025-08-03 05:47:31 +0000 UTCThis is not to shit on you or anything but it’s pretty obvious that the ending without Takopi’s sacrifice or involvement would’ve just been shizuka and azuma getting toguether years later and Marina continuing her shitty life with her abusive mother. I like the ending because the author realize that he could just give these characters something different, like if you you want a more “realistic ending” it’s not that hard to figure out how it would go and I think that’s on purpose.
