He was wondering why he couldn't see her 20's and 30's. Instead, he was able to see her future through the waiter. They will recap this ending at the beginning of the next episode. Pay attention to her dialogue while on the phone with Sunny. She's telling Sunny it's her first time to travel abroad. She did not go to Canada in memory of him. The way she's talking, it's like she doesn't even remember her time there. But as always, how discerning of you to point out that her smiling doesn't mean she's happy so why would Goblin draw that conclusion from that future vision. As for you being mad at Goblin for how he's acting towards Euntak, you're not alone. A lot of people have reacted that way, including me. But I do understand why even though I don't agree with his action. It's self preservation. He wants to end his life now before he starts wanting to live. Since Euntak is the reason why he wants to live, he is closing himself off to her. It will be so much harder to end his life, if he has a reason to live. All I can say is all in due time. This is a journey of self discovery for him. Unfortunately, while he's doing this self discovery, he is hurting Euntak which is what I don't like.
