It helps make her victory feel earned, she simply made the better dish. Also! I'm glad we have this show. The chef in Mr. Queen cooks for advantage, to gain something over someone or put himself ahead, his meals are driven by his ego. Ji-yeong's meals are a gift that evoke emotion and I'm so glad we get this perspective too.
