38AC Nice contracts a fake relationship with Moon, and he becomes more popular through defeating the clones from Black Suits Organization, which are made through combining Fear and the remains of Phobiaclone by the vengeful Shand. A former "X" Hero Bowa is overtaken by Fear over bias and grudge towards Queen, and she has greatly wounded Queen before the 19th Tournament. Hero X remains as "X" in the 19th Tournament. 39AC - 40AC Loli uses the materials that her father had gathered from the alien spaceship to craft a mecha suit to become a vigilante hero without relying on Trust, and her father Luo encourages her to join the Glimmer Lab. Soon after, a former "X" hero DJ Shindig raids the Glimmer Lab under the order from the Spotlight Organization. Loli defends the Lab with her suit, but she accidentally makes DJ Shindig become infected by experimental Fear, and DJ Shindig escapes back to the Spotlight Organization. Later Luo discovers that the alien materials are resistant to both Trust and Fear. The Commission then requests a new investigation of the spaceship with the Lab team. Multiple battles and casualties have occurred during the investigation involving DJ Shindig, E-Soul, Ghostblade, Loli, Nice and The Johnnies. Most of the Lab team are murdered by the lurking Black Suits Organization, and only Loli and Nuonuo survive. Queen and Lucky Cyan come to pacify the scene under Micky's scheming. The aftermath is known as the Ruins Incident, and the 20th tournament in 40AC is on hold due to the incident. Hero X becomes the first hero to hold the "X" title for three terms. 41AC The Hero Affairs Commission puts out an execution order on Hero X over the concern of Hero X getting Trust Value from being "X" for three terms. Rock sees the opportunity to bump up the ranking of a hero, Dragon Boy, who shares the same interest of reviving Zero. Both Rock and Shand want to put their own heroes into the top ten ranking, and Rock asks Dragon Boy to coerce a top ten hero, Smile, while Shand asks Nice to infect Dragon Boy or Smile with Fear after one defeats another and muffle the narrative as the hero who defeats the corrupted hero. Nice injects Dragon Boy with Fear, as he can't attack his childhood idol, Smile. However, this choice backfires as Dragon Boy rejects Fear and regurgitates it onto Smile because of his ability. Smile gets overtaken by Fear and goes berserk, and Dragon Boy ends up killing Fear-induced Smile. Nice is enraged by Smile's death, and he starts fighting Dragon Boy, but the fight is stopped by Hero X. Rock notices the connection between Hero X and Smile while observing the fight. Dragon Boy enters the top ten amidst the controversy. A former circus dog, Ahu, has been adopted by Xin Ya, and she wants to make Ahu a hero and fight off the obligating transfer of property ownerships in old residential communities from Treeman. Soon Shand sends Nice as a hero to trick the old people in the communities to give up their deeds to their homes. Upon hearing this news, Xin Ya and Ahu infiltrate the office and retrieve the deeds, but they get overwhelmed by the guarding Black Suits clones. Ahu gets separated from Xin Ya, and Hero X happens to defeat most of the clones. Ahu returns to Xin Ya and get confronted by Nice and a remaining clone. Ahu gets motivated to counterattack, and the clone is defeated but its blood that fills with Fear spills onto Nice. Nice has a PTSD breakdown and flees from the scene. Ahu takes credit for defeating all the clones on the scene and becomes the No. 8 hero. Nice hears about Ahu's advancement and Shand's disappointment while seeking a cure for fearing becoming a monster like Smile, and then he absentmindedly runs away to a rooftop building, where Lin Ling is contemplating suicide after being fired. Nice jumps off the building in front of Lin Ling, and Lin Ling is abducted by Nice's manager for questioning. Lin Ling is packaged as Nice after OG Nice's suicide, and he ends the faking contract with Moon after defeating Wreck. Lin Ling becomes the No. 10 hero after mediating Firm Man's nemesis, Wolf Girl. Later Lin Ling gives up the Nice identity to confront God Eye, and then he regains the Trust Value from the public and defeats God Eye. Lin Ling gains the title of The Commoner afterward, but Moon is killed by E-Soul after making their reunion. Ghostblade saves Lin Ling from further attack. Ahu confronts Hero X a day before the 21st Tournament and asks him to drop out, but the Commission and the hero agencies have also found out Hero X's identity through Rock, and they execute a collaborative assassination on Hero X. Ahu fights alongside Hero X and learns about the forbidden truth of Zero. The 21st Tournament begins, and Hero X reveals his true identity to the public. People are also surprised that Nice is alive and is likely surviving off Fear, as Nice becomes No. 10 after Lin Ling becomes No.9 and kicking E-Soul out of the tournament.

OG E-Soul manages to kill Zero, and then MG is founded by Shand's father in 1BC. The Hero Affair Commission is founded in 1AC, and the "X" Tournament System is established in 2AC, where the top ranked hero is recognized as "X". DOS is founded by Micky in 8AC. 16AC - 18AC The Glimmer Lab is founded in 16AC. As an alien spaceship drops in 18AC, people start to panic and MG sends Sheng to respond. Sheng finds an alien baby and secretly brings it home, and his son Little Johnny names the alien Big Johnny. 19AC - 22AC Zac invents a new social platform FOMO in 19AC, and Rock invests in FOMO with his father's heritage in order to find the candidate of a Zero successor. Ghostblade becomes popular through random FOMO posts, but MG signs him first. Ghostblade gets married and separated because of his mental trauma, but his daughter Nuonuo is born. Later, Ghostblade kills Sheng under MG's order in 20AC, and the emotionally unstable Big Johnny crashes Hero Vortex, who is nearby. Little Johnny ends up getting the attention and getting signed with FOMO in 22AC. 23AC A plane has crashed due to the struggle between MG hero Vortex and DOS hero Phobiaclone, and Shand takes Phobiaclone's body for research. Meanwhile, Cyan becomes the sole survivor of the crash, and a reporter Liu takes her to an orphanage under cover. Soon after, the aggressive wing from the Glimmer Lab meets Liu to advocate the Fear usage and the truth about the plane crash. Liu is disappointed with Trust, and then he leads the aggressive wing to form the Spotlight Organization with Micky's help. 28AC - 32AC Liu's daughter, Queen, graduates early from college, and she gives her speech that has inspired more female power. Micky sees the potential in the female hero market and signs Queen in 28AC. The cheating scandal of the "X" couple at the time has led to more social conflicts between males and females. The Orphanage Dean already starts a cult centered around Cyan's extraordinary luck. 34AC - 35AC Shand has left MG to form Treeman, and he starts to nurture new heroes like Nice and Firmman. Rock leaves FOMO to take over MG at this time. Cyan escapes alone from the orphanage with her friends' help and starts living off the street. Cyan gets scouted by DOS in 35AC as Lucky Cyan. 36AC X suddenly appears in the 18th Tournament and defeats everyone in a flash, and he becomes the first "X" without an agency. Shand's son, Shang Chao, is accidentally killed amidst Rock's scheme of taking out OG E-Soul with the new E-Soul. Shang Chao's friend, Yang Cheng, is manipulated by the disguised Rock on his way to becoming the new E-Soul, and he ends up killing OG E-Soul out of his own remorse upon Shang Chao's death. Meanwhile, Lucky Cyan's past as the sole survivior of the 23AC place crash gets exposed, causing a scandel when people start believing that her luck ability comes at other's expense. 37AC District 70 has succumbed to the massive amount of Fear that are culminated within the district residents through the misinformation of Lucky Cyan's past and the public resentment over her past orphanage. Lucky Cyan returns to the orphanage in order to retrieve the duplicated flight recording that are entrusted to the Dean by Liu, and she ends up saving the Fear-induced residents and debunking her scandel with the recording. This incident has forced the Commission to disclose Fear, a negative source of power existed alongside with Trust, to the public.
