bit late to comment on this ep but maybe the human hikaru didn’t act on his feelings towards yoshiki because of the indo curse? i personally think he had feelings for yoshiki as well. i mean his last thoughts were of him & was the reason nonuki even took over his body. he knows that yoshiki wants to leave the village eventually but hikaru can’t because of the indo curse

Hikaru's last name, Indou is written with the characters "mourning/detestable/death anniversary" and "public chamber." Hikaru's first name means "light." So his full name could mean something like "Light of the Detestable Chamber"

2025-09-16 18:01:07 +0000 UTCRE: falling off - there are people who feel like the manga falls off after the first arc due to putting more of a focus on the horror/mystery and not the relationship aspects (it still has queer metaphors and lots to say about Yoshiki and Hikaru mind you). However, that arc ended at episode 7. So if you already like what has occurred between episodes 8 through 10, I think you'll be pretty happy with the manga. Also RE: the whole "this place obviously looks like a body" thing: the modern day villages are the head, torso, one arm, and one leg. One leg and one arm are abandoned, and seem to be entirely mountainous. It doesn't quite strike people as looking like a body because it is missing some of the "limbs." It's only obvious if someone does the historical research of the place.
