it feels like it's resolved at least for Yoshiki's self-awareness, which is pretty big to be able to move on with. Successful season finale for one character (figuring out he wants happiness more than 'what's right'), but everyone's living a different genre. Next season maybe we'll see 'Hikaru''s answer (because he didn't give Yoshiki a clear answer) as well as the village-pressing matter. idk how they managed to make it both feel complete and incomplete in this way, but it's a good thing they immediately announced S2 after the ep's release.

Tbh they probably left whatever the big thing that was supposed to happen so that they could start the next season off with a big thing

I felt that way too when I finished it, but after watching it again, it feels so complete. I don't know if it's because I missed certain things, or maybe I was too focused on the big crazy ending we were going to have, but the argument, the sound design, their words... It was really beautiful. I recommend giving it a second watch.
