So as we can see, the reason she got clapped in previous timeline is clear. She met papa like 3 years later than rn IIRC, and he says that in 1 year he would have been able to forget everything. Ergo she got assblasted because papa has no emotional or w/e ties to her, since he forgot all that shit a couple years before she met him for the first time. I think it's tied to those "heart attack" evil looking effects he has when he interacts w/ her too actively in the previous episodes. Like IDK if you've played the Witcher 3, but I think the most apt comparison of "fairy tale" trope stuff would be similar to the Hearts of Stone DLC, where the central character of the DLC was basically "cursed" to have his heart become like "stone". No, why would you need mana for the spell? It's clearly a summoning entreaty type of deal, so it clearly relies solely on external power (i.e the power of the gods of light & darkness) to send an emissary (of Time) to give you the effect handouts
