Town Hall - some thoughts

Well, the Town Hall - while slightly unorganized - was a success.

Unfortunately, during setup and prep, stuff started not to work, break, and generally be a pain in the arse. It was frustrating for me in particular as I had VMs with Windows3.1/98 with America Online 2.5/3.0 on them to showcase their functionality.

During the dress rehearsal, my VMs all worked fine, but when I refreshed everything to get ready to show, my Windows3.1 VM started complaining about the VGA adapter not being supported. GAH. During this time the public P3OL server was having issues with registration and user login. If I had any hair I would have been pulling it out lol.

All in all, we think it went well and we hope everyone in attendance is excited about what's coming. The Town Hall recording will be posted for everyone to watch when the cleanup is done.

I would also like to readdress a question from one of our Patrons about the excitement for the project getting stale due to the public server not changing much at all for lower-teared Patrons, and public users in general.  I completely understand this statement and sympathize 100%. Updates to the public services have been slower than I would like, unfortunately though, life has continuously been happening, and family will always come first.

On the other hand, though, we're focused so heavily on getting a large chunk of the service completed and ready for public consumption that pushing updates to the public services has definitely been far and few between.  I hope the Town Hall reflected that we are actively working on the project with the same level of passion now, as there was on day one!

Open-keywords, iOS app - Android on the way, browser-based client, Windows3.1/98 America Online 2.5 support, public area creation tools, MAC support in the future, and lots more.  We've only just started.
