2024-10-19 12:29:49 +0000 UTC1. Figure out what “Corporate Synergy” *is* exactly. 2. Make small talk with one random employee. You know, how’s the family, those groceries are expensive now, things the small folk will connect to. 3. Talk to Human Resources about that one person you want to fire, but you don’t think you can yet… 4. Figure out what three new things you can write on your weekly status slide that makes it look like your busy. 5. Create an IT problem that allows you to go “Work From Home”

2024-10-19 05:01:10 +0000 UTC1. Wake up, shower, dress in daily uniform (t-shirt and jeans, an outfit that should cost $20 but somehow costs $2000). 2. Begin commute. Berate personal driver for wrong air freshener scent. Sip from morning coffee. Scold PA for incorrect temperature of coffee. How hard is it to have your skim milk extra foam no foam almond milk macchiato at precisely 211°? 3. Enter office. Inquire loudly why your sparkling water has not been pre-opened - the point is for it to have gone flat. Announce you have important investor meetings for the duration of the morning and are not to be disturbed. 4. Flip page on your "The Art Of The Deal" daily calendar. Open web browser. Type "how to get promoted when you're already CEO." Spend next several hours reading wiki-how. 5. Emerge for lunch. Ask PA why your $20 salad is cold. Fire PA for insolence (don't tell me salad is supposed to be refrigerated. Salad is whatever temperature I tell you it is.) 6. Direct Suzette the ancient secretary to hire a new PA by EOD. Return to office. Spend afternoon reviewing hiring data to ensure we're meeting nepotism quota. 7. Close of business, head to "happy hour" with old college buddies. Every hour is "happy" when you're one of the good ole boys, right? Ha. Ha. Spend several hours getting progressively drunker on whiskey to forget that you don't like any of these people but your value is defined by your network and your willingness to buy a round of top-shelf. 8. Today you made a billion dollars. Sleep comes easy.
