2025-05-18 04:45:27 +0000 UTCI had to return with another comment upon showing the episode to my wife… she has joked several times now that something about aoaoaoa puts her to sleep and the show is now often referred to as ‘The Lullaby’ when I turn it on at home. It is absolutely unbelievable to me with all the shrieking and laughing and the fact that everyone’s voices are different each time so it can’t be anything about consistent noises, the themes and topics are all over the place, etc., but I have now witnessed this phenomenon like ten times. It is as if she takes 100mg of Ambien at the top of every ep. I was convinced this episode would keep her awake because it was so deeply hilarious, the songs went crazy, it was nice and loud, and I was sitting there crying from laughing so hard, but she was literally snoring during the Goblin’s Lament. I will never understand it, but I need you all to know there is exactly one person on this earth who is soothed into a deep REM cycle by the dulcet tones of your various voices.

I pointed this out in the comments too of the one hit wonder. You can actually feature your beautiful voice and be silly. Like that one clip (I think on Tiktok and someone reposted it as a short?) where you sing a beautiful song and then when it gets to the trumpets you "sing" the trumpets part too.

She's also the most likely to fall into the "Beyonce effect" where she only gives her first name. Kylie uses Deborah or Debbie the most Patrick, you LOVE the name Connor Jeremy I haven't noticed a specific name yet but he does tend to fall under the category I call "Name Nameson" like Sebastian Bastion, Win Windigo, Toby Tobison, Jeff Jeffreys. Oh he also used Tommy Twotime and Timmy Twotime so now in my canon there's two brothers named Timmy and Tommy. One is very neurotic and will only outfit someone twice and one is, I think a morning show host? I'm only about a quarter a way through my "AoAoAoA naming conventions spreadsheet" but this is what I've noticed so far.

Austria, the UK and Switzerland for example are all in Europe but not part of the EU. It is confusing because Europe if often just shorten to EU.

You don't have to be in the EU to compete (Australia is now a permanent fixture, lol) 2. The winning country hosts the competition the following year, which is probs why so many acts are awful, cos the countries don't want to host. 3. Acts aren't allowed to compete if they're under management, the other reason so many acts are awful. 😂

First of all I loved it, at one point I had to pause the video for several minutes cause I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. Secondly, I've been rewatching older eps and I'm noticing yall are wading into the absurd more frequently and comfortably in more recent episodes, and it makes them all the funnier imo when you're not as worried about keeping things coherent or ontopic. You spent several minutes going into detail about the activity center at the vatican in an episode that was supposedly about Eurovision. Also, I think it's really funny that Angela has a beautiful singing voice but goes out of her way to not use it.
