2025-08-20 22:35:18 +0000 UTCOkay so key lore: 1) The first outro was "see you at the movies" (first patreon video) 2) Initially we rolled along in relative calm. Then January 26th 2024 came the first Oscars draft which initiated 1) Some sort of animal in a top (e.g. hoodie, tee, crew neck) 2) The challenge era 3) Artist v Artist v Artist v Artist v Hilary Clinton Cat in a Hoodie ("Angela") won the first Oscar's draft. Jeremy and Kylie defected to team CiaH, Patrick stayed strong. 3) Crucially in this time period, Angela was challenged by patreons and by Jeremy, Kylie and Patrick to say embarrassing things at Sundance Film Festival. This feels like the spiritual predecessor to... 4) 12 Weeks of Dance: The initial pitch is in the 7th March 24 aftershow, "A24 Directors" Having enjoyed the Oscar draft, our AoAoAoAs decided they wanted to bet on something else. Initially 12 weeks of Dance was pitched as a group challenge, but Angela suggested it should be just Jeremy. This evolved in a way that is too complex to explain in an intro, but I would pitch expanding the 12 weeks of dance collection to include predictions, reactions and the focus group, so new patreons can get it in its entirety. That being said, joining late and finding just 12 videos of Jeremy dancing with 0 context was also delightful, so either works I guess. 4) The 12 weeks of Dance draft lead to a revelation that Hilary Clinton had taken the laptop of leprechaun (lepricon) by mistake. Fae lore is perhaps too complex for an intro video and also I'm already questioning my grip on reality typing this out, but crucial info is that now whenever the AoAoAoAs are in challenge mode, it's likely that a fae representative will be in touch. 5) I'm pretty sure this is when patreon of the week started. An utterly meaningless yet highly coveted position, patreons of the week are chosen at random using a secret, complex system that only Kylie understands. 6) After the election results of 2024, the AoAoAoAs hosted a live aftershow in which can be summed up aptly by an Angela quote from the same episode, "If I laugh too much I might cry." I'm pretty sure this is when Mobbed was watched, which resulted in "Open Arms" being added to the end of video tags. 7) After the 2nd Oscars draft in 2025, a forfeit for the loser was pitched. They had to go to a coffee shop in Silverlake and write a script. The title pitched by a Patreon was "Jesus Was Her Name". Patrick lost and wrote what is unfortunately one of the most devastatingly revolutionary pieces of media in our modern time, a meta and post-modern takedown of religious dogma and celebration of current day queer culture. This is also yet to be made into a collection but 100% should be. 8) The current challenge is committing a crime/investigating each other, although as neither of these challenges have become overly complicated or involved outside parties, I'm unsure if they're actually going ahead. 9) Kylie and Angela are meant to be planning a wedding in a short time frame. Side note - as someone who has planned their own wedding, I'd like to pitch budget restrictions (my whole wedding was £5K) and character choices that cause impositions, e.g. a mother-in-law who really, really wants it to be a hog roast when half the attendees are veggie or vegan and threatens not to come, a father of the bride who announces his affair at the bride and groom's engagement party forcing them to move the date last minute, and a sister of the bride who says they can't be there in person but will astral project (yep that all happened to me). Honourable mentions: Ooga booga No steals during piss week Fuck Marry Kill nothing is as it seems Changing your name is not mandatory but like, it shows how cool you are Patrick does not know how to use technology and that's okay. Jeremy Elder is allowed to challenge Kylie. That one energy drink everyone was drinking that made you go insane. A series of curses have affected production, fortunately Patrick rode the Mummy and yelled "Lift the curse!" so we're good now Jeremy's illness order in the Silverlake Tapes was a competition. In the Kelloggs multiverse episode The Artists say "Join our Patreon to find out why Patrick took a phone call and left". This was filmed pre-election and as far as I can tell the departure is NEVER EXPLAINED but actually as I'm typing this I'm realising I upgraded to £8 ($10) tier so there is a chance I'm now rich enough to find out. Update: it isn't. A few bits that crop up occasionally: Emailing or DMing random companies or people Jeremy does not like early mornings Angela occasionally hijacks the patreon to pull pranks and raise side bets I'm not sure how well known it is to outside this patreon that Patrick is a DJ for Margaritaville and loves Jimmy Buffet but I feel like it's pertinent because they are often at a Margaritaville and/or have recorded there.
