December Update is Live!

I have some doctor things and other things I need to do tomorrow, so I decided to stay up late tonight and do the update a liiiitle early.  Happy New Year, everyone!  

Here's the rundown of the site/Arania news this month!

HEALTH UPDATE:

I made it through a 9-hour long open neck surgery on December 12, spent 3 nights in the hospital and then have been home, slowly recovering since then.  The biopsy found cancer (as expected) in 2 nodes on my removed thyroid, as well as 10 other lymph nodes in my neck.  

For those of you not too squeemish, you can watch my post-surgery VLOG here (when I still had the staples in my neck and filmed from my hospital bed thanks to the help from my wife - who you can see/meet in the video :3 ).  Since then, I've been getting a little stronger every day, but I'm still get worn out after about doing half of what I normally do in a day.   I'm visiting doctors on the regular, having blood work taken to check my hormone and calcium levels, and in about 5 months, my endocrinologist is going to do a restaging / another scan to see if there is any evidence of cancer left in my system.  Currently, we're finding a balance of hormone replacements since I no longer have a thyroid to regulate my metabolism, among other things, but it's a process.  I also have a pretty cool new necklace-like scar.  

Based on the work I did this month, and metering out what's left on my to-do list, and budgeting my time for a lot of doctor's visits. I'm currently estimating that my hard close will last till the End of March Update.  

That being said, unfortunately, between having to take a lot of time off of working on art commissions and medical bills, and my wife also having taken off of some work to take care of me when I couldn't even really walk, we're doing some fundraiser opportunities!  Check out the two special new offers below!

2. CANCER FUNDRAISER: NEW AS OF DEC 5!
   
   Even being lucky enough to have health insurance, multiple doctor visits and two surgeries isn’t cheap, so I’m doing a bit of a fundraiser to help with the costs of the thyroid cancer treatments.  Since I already have a chunky worklist, and my amazing wife was awesome enough to want to help out as well, she did digital inks and flatcolors + fire effects of one of our favorite recent donation arts:
