Studio WIT did the first 3 seasons and Mappa took over for season 4 and until the end of the series. Mappa is also the animation studio which makes Jujutsu Kaisen and the 2nd season of Vinland Saga (among other things, haha)

Like Reiner looked so different so I was thinking maybe this was a look in the past? Or very far ahead. Hence why it was so confusing. But i understand it now. Thank you !! 😊

The nation of Marley, where Grisha was from originally, has been fighting a four year long war with the Mid-East Alliance. The war started because word got out that Marley lost the Colossal Titan. When other nations heard about that loss they decided to band together to reclaim territory Marley had taken from them in previous wars. In other words, the consequences of what happened in Paradis, the island where Eren and the gang live, have rippled out into the greater world at large. In short, the scope of the world just got a bit larger and now you are seeing what "The Other Side Of The Sea" is all about. If you are still confused I'd suggest rewatching the last few episodes from the end of season 3 where you get a bit of Grisha's back story. Also as you saw because the Marleyans are the only ones who have an understanding on how to convert Eldians into Titans they can use them as living weapons against their enemies. This is able to be done using Zeke's shout ability along side his power to control them. In addition, if you didn't notice most normal Eldians wear GREY armbands. The Eldians who are chosen to become Warrior candidates wear YELLOW armbands and they are the ones who are being tested to see if they will inherit 1 of the 9...aka "smart" Titan's. Those who were chosen and hold one of the "smart" Titans, like Reiner for example, wear RED armbands and are considered to be "Honorary Marleyans" along with their family members. Their family members also get to wear RED armbands. Furthermore the Eldians (the only people who can turn into Titans) are ruled over by the Maryleans outside Paradis. There are some Eldians in other countries but most people hate/fear them because of their ability to be turned into Titans. Lastly, Marley and the rest of the world are at a WW1 level of technology. Meaning they don't have airplanes. Blimps are the high tech flying machines of the time and cars are barely starting to become a thing. However everyone has developed weapons, high caliber artillery/cannon rounds, to combat the edge Marley has in being able to use Titans.

And because Reiner and Zeke failed to take back the founding titan and lost the colossal titan and the female titan it sparked a war between Marley and the mid-east Forces because Marley is weaker now.
