I had those exact symptoms, crazy sore throat couldn’t even swallow water, definitely thought I had strep. Went to the doctor they tested for strep, mono, COVID. All came back negative then she was going to prescribe me some antibiotics but she told me to go to the ER instead. Went to the ER ran test, all came back negative prescribe some the same antibiotics then said go get some rest. They did give me some steroid and some other medicine that made my swelling go down and pretty much ended my store throat within 2 hours. But yeah I’m at the point where going to the doctor sometimes seems like a waste, had to pay $25 for my copay cool, antibiotics were was $1.37 literally which ain’t shit either but now I’m just waiting on the bill for the ER cause I was there for like 2-3 hours and they had to run a CT scan. When they could’ve just gave me the antibiotics and I would’ve went on my way…
