How To Play VanimateApp/VR

First, if you haven't already Subscribed to Patreon, Select a membership level
there are a few to pick from.
The most common ones are BLUE or RED. All subscriptions give you access to both VanimateApp and VanimateVR.
You can change or cancel your membership at any time.
DOWNLOAD
Find the latest "RELEASE" post.
Click on DOWNLOAD
This will open the DOWNLOAD post, pick the latest version
VanimateApp (Desktop)
VanimateVR (VR )
Download via MEGA or G-Drive.
Inside G-Drive or MEGA, click Download, and your Download should begin.
Extraction Program
VanimateApp is compressed to reduce the overall size for a more accessible Download
To Extract it, you first need a program like WinRar - WinZip β 7zip. You probably have one installed on your computer already. If you do skip the next step

Download a 64-bit version
Please open the file you downloaded from 7-Zip and install it.
Extract
Now create a New Folder somewhere on your computer to place VanimateApp-Setup.zip.
When the VanimateApp/VR File download is complete, place it inside the folder you created for it
Right-click on it and click "Extract Here" the extraction process will start.
Installation
Then right-click VanimateApp/VR-Setup.exe and select "Run as administrator" to start Installation.
This will prompt you to allow the installation to proceed, click -> YES
SETUP
Then the Setup will start.
First, pick the location on your computer you want the game to be installed, and then click Next.
You can choose if you want a Start Menu Shortcut, then click Next.
Select if you want a desktop shortcut and click Next.
Then you will see an overview of the selections you made. Finally, if you are happy - click Install.
The Installation will begin.
You can choose if you want to Launch the game and then click - Finish.
The game Launcher Icon will look like this.
You can delete the VanimateApp-Setup.exe and Zip files. They won't be necessary anymore.
Patreon Verification
The first time you launch the game, it will ask you for Patreon Verification.
Click on "LOG IN WITH PATREON"
Clicking it will open the Patreon Website with the browser you last used on your computer.
Then you have to Log-In your Patreon account. If you haven't already logged in
A prompt will appear asking you to Allow the game to view your public profile.
Click - Allow
This will generate a Patreon Key.
Click - COPY KEY
Return to the Game and Paste the Key by pressing the button next to the field
(If it says the Key is Invalid, please wait around 15 minutes and try again)
ALL DONE!!! π₯³π₯³π₯³
VanimateVR
For the VR version, you will need SteamVR installed from Steam
It won't show what game you're playing to your Steam friends!

Subscription Upgrade
If you upgrade from Blue -> Red you have to go inside the game save files and delete them this will trigger another Patreon Verification to let the game know you Upgraded

UPDATES
There are two ways of updating the game.
One -> Open the Launcher and click UPDATE.
Two -> Download the new Setup and Install the game again.
Not Subscriber
You can play the game without having an active Patreon subscription
The verification will be required only after an Update
If you don't have an active Patreon subscription, don't update the game.
If you start the Launcher and there is an update available, it will ask you if you want to Update. Click- NO.
To avoid that, go inside the game folder, go in the "GameData" folder, and start the game from VanimateApp.exe. This will open the game directly.

Yeah, performance is all over the place right now. It's something ill definitely need to focus on fixing. Did you try to run from the DX11 shortcut that might do it for you

2023-07-09 05:09:28 +0000 UTCIt'd have been nice to see the actual needed specs before purchasing the subscription instead of the vague "mid-range PC or laptop"... I have a 970 GTX which is fine for even most games at least at medium settings (and even many are fine at ultra settings), but for this game it doesn't run even at minimum settings, and only if I close all my other programs can I even access the graphic settings menu... It stated my graphic card has run out of memory, which hasn't even happened once when I played Cyberpunk 2077... The demo ran fine, but the full game can't load past the main menu, after choosing "apartment".

2023-07-09 02:48:43 +0000 UTCHello, Weavo You don't need to install the VR Version, you only need to Unzip it and run VanimateVR.exe, but you also need to have SteamVR up and running before you start VanimateVR.exe Keep in mind that the VR version is a couple of months out of date. There were some issues with the new engine that are being fixed. So the next VR Release that's going to bring all the new features and characters will be at the earliest January of next year

2022-10-11 10:07:04 +0000 UTCI am a little unclear on the install for the VR version. I have the desktop version installed and it works fine but there is no setup exe for the VR version. When I launch any of the exe files in the VR version I get a black screen and nothing happens. I figured I would install it outside of VR but do I need to launch it with headset on? Pls clarify the VR install it doesn't appear the same as the desktop version.

And if that doesn't work, try opening a different browser, maybe Microsoft Edge that's built into windows. The game will try to open the last browser you used If nothing of that works, please DM me directly on Patreon.
