First and foremost it is a cold shade, it immediately evokes a feeling of sadness, a quiet melancholy for something that might have been brighter. It also sits squarely between black and white, two polar opposites. Grey is the colour of the ignavi, those neutral bystanders Dante scorned, people who cannot, or will not, take a side. To escape this grey world you need the courage to choose and take a clear position; unfortunately, even that courage is sometimes not enough to make the world burst back into colour.
Each of us carries many colours within: traits and passions that make us unique and, no matter the moment we are living through, define us and drive us to stand up for our values. It is precisely these qualities that let us see the world differently from others.
In the next chapter you will live through the eyes of several characters, enter their minds, and discover how they try to confront the grey world that surrounds them.
My Girlfriend’s New Kink v0.5 will put far greater emphasis on the inner lives of its characters. It will push the player to take firm positions about the relationships around them and to learn that the choices we make have real consequences for the people involved.

One thing I really struggled with was writing a particular personality, not so much for the ideas or how to put them into practice, but for the strong emotional content. Starting to touch on certain topics was emotionally difficult because everything you think, write, and create, you know exactly where it will end up, and you know how sad, engaging, or spicy it could be (of course, it’s still an AVN I’m making). You will be the ones having to wrestle with the dark side, finding the strength to bring out the light even in the darkest moments. I’m now at a great point in the writing of Chapter 5, just a few more days and it will be fully completed. Of course, the translation process will take longer this time, just like the game testing. I also plan to make animations for some scenes, and I hope to surprise you with a chapter that’s both long and packed with emotion.

2025-08-15 00:58:38 +0000 UTCI like the way this was presented. And moving to focus on the inner thoughts of individual characters is pretty damn bold. And can eat some writers up. Developing a personality is time consumptive and even emotional... it's how I write and it can become a roller coaster, even a block. Going from a novel style to an AVN writer has been a challenge for me personally, and I'm just barely getting started. This is showing a real desire to make an impact on the day to day reality we all seek escape from... by putting the player in front of a day to day reality check of their own internal decision making (if that makes sense). Showing consequences brought by choices and pathing those diligently is a hell of a goal, one I'd like to emulate myself. Keep to the lighter shades of gray/grey, avoid the dark side. Keep us up to date!
