I just wanted to say that as with any show there are good moments and there are bad moments. And with this particular show I think that the good ones are worth the bad ones. And no backhanded happiness. Let me rephrase what I said and maybe better explain what I tried to convey. Maybe I don't watch that many TV shows and that's why I was so surprised that they often gave us the exact opposite of what we thought we were getting. For example the wedding - when we heard about it the first time we did not want that. Anything but that. And yet it turned out to be one of the best scenes of the entire show. So I'm just saying that the opposite can happen as well.

2023-06-08 03:42:29 +0000 UTClmao! for sure! we barely had any scenes with her other than her telling clary she was sorry for lying, so there was no attachment that was actually built. it didn't seem like a high stakes death for me at all and left me not really caring. although, I'm happy it wasn't someone I cared about! Also, now I'm terrified. You have a good point and left me intrigued with your last sentence there, but also, I don't want backhanded happiness! I'm scared. 🤣🩶

2023-06-07 21:23:39 +0000 UTCLoved your reaction to Jocelyn's death :D Same here, same. But I think it's because we didn't have much opportunity to get to know her and like her. For example Clary was obnoxious the first season, I hated her and her death would make me happy. But now I kinda like her. I feel like she's getting some self awareness (her interactions with Alec were great) and doesn't act as if she and her problems were the most important thing in the universe anymore. Also what an irony that the whole first season was about saving her mom and then they offed her in a couple of episodes :D As for happiness... you will get a lot of happy moments (I think for you in particular you'll get more than you thought was possible), you'll get a lot of sad moments. You'll also get a lot of things you thought you wanted but in exactly the way you didn't want them (I had to laugh at myself crying that I didn't want this when I got exactly what I hoped for just a moment before). It's a mess and a roller coaster of emotions. I personally HATE angst, I simply can't stand it. But I'm glad that even though the show is full of angst they don't seem to drag it out (instead they give us another thing to fret over). And what's to come is worth it. For comparison - imagine you would stop watching when Alec proposed to Lidya and then you missed the wedding :)

2023-06-07 16:43:27 +0000 UTCI think they've made a wise choice with Jocelyn's death bcs the death that happened in the books was absolutely devastating and a big no no.. so if there had to be character death it's best this way. Let's be honest Jocelyn didn't contribute much plot wise and wasn't very likable.. ** also there are some happy times ahead.. kinda 😅😉

It’s interesting too bc as hard as it is for Clary, I feel like we didn’t get much Jocelyn to really feel an attachment to her and also feel the loss? Also, they need a break! 🤣

I remember ending this episode and just sitting there for awhile because so much happened emotionally in this and the last one. This season just gets better and better and I can't wait to experience it with you!
