2023-07-17 05:17:20 +0000 UTCthe scene with Alec realizing magnus was jealous is always one of my favorites his smile is so adorable😭 raphael and izzy always get me because although they aren’t dating and seemed to have moved past that part, their bond is strong and they care for each other so much☹️ i can’t blame maia at all for killing heidi, like i get why other characters felt it was “wrong” but to maia the pack was family and heidi also hurt jordan so badly. heidi was the villain that drove me crazy the most simply because I was astonished at how manipulative she was it was truly wild next episode…there’s nothing i can say to prepare you other than to get your tissues

That is so interesting that only a handful of people live there in the books! that's so cool! We Stan Aline for sure! omg, Alec smiling about magnus being jealous.... I WAS LIVING🩶

I'm with Maia on this one as Heidi is the reason for so many bad things and her family being killed, I would've done the same thing if I was smart enough to do it 🤣 some of my favorite malec scenes were in this episode as well, I just love them so so much! 🩶 idk why they always have to ruin a good thing though!

I can confidently say, I have cried more at this show and as much pain as it's causing me, I do really love it 🩶 literally me, you and I are one on that front! 🤣 I'm so with you, Maia has always been interesting to me, I have liked her a lot more the second half of this season than I did before, but again, if Heidi would've moved on, she'd be fine, she did it to herself!

2023-07-16 04:50:36 +0000 UTCAh, so it only gets worse from here :) 1. The first fact I wanted to share was the most heartbreaking. When Magnus falls, he starts screaming. He's screaming in his first language, which is Indonesian (although it is not modern Indonesian. realistically). He doesn't like talking in Indonesian, because it reminds him of his mother and step father. So he rarely does it. But he was in so much pain he started screaming in it. From what I have picked up from youtube comments and posts, he is screaming something along the lines of "my head hurts, please help me, make it stop." I do not speak Indonesian, so anyone who does, correct me if I am wrong- my sources are limited. But, as someone who speaks several languages, I can say that when I'm feeling very strong emotions, a lot of pain, or when I'm very tired, I switch languages, simply for comfort or because of confusion. 2. Heidi called that vampire "sweetheart," and you seemed rightfully confused, so here's a quick explanation- I don't think she meant anything by it. I call my friends "sweetheart, honey, love, darling," and generally don't mean much by it. It's just a love language for me, and I suppose a manipulation tactic for her. 3. In the books, the only people who lived in the institue were the heads, their family, and any shadowhunter orphans who need a home. The rest live around New York or surrounding states, and go to the institute for enclave meetings or missions only, so if Magnus ever wanted to stay at the Institute, he would totally be allowed, and not judged. Mainly because the only residents in TMI are the Lightwoods, Jace, and for a short while, Clary. 4. Okay okay, book Aline probably would have sparred with Clary in those circumstances, but the point is she DIDN'T. In fact, I don't think she ever really blamed Clary for what Jonathan did? Although again, it was Jace who was bounded to Jonathan in the books. I really, really like book!Aline (as you know, from several texts I have sent you). She's loyal, hot headed, and super underated. She's one of my favorite characters, and I think Jacky Lai did an incredible job potraying her. I adore her. 5. The way Maia killed Maureen/Heidi was the same way in the books! Except in the books, she teamed up with Lily Chen, Raphael's second in command to do it. It was Lily's plan, and Maia was "the weapon she wielded," so neither of them got in trouble, Lily got control of the clan, and Maureen was dead. 6. Alec's grin when Magnus was jealous omggggg

2023-07-15 16:44:37 +0000 UTCGreat reaction! This episode had a lot of excellent, hard-hitting moments. The Raphael and Izzie scenes were heartbreaking. It was satisfying to see Heidi get ended by Maya in such a clever way. I absolutely get Simon’s reaction about going about it the right way, but it must have felt different to Maya. Practically her entire pack was attacked and slaughtered because of Heidi. And then there was Malec, my absolute favorite! I loved Magnus staying in Alec’s room at the institute and the way they decided at the end to find a place together! The “you’re actually jealous” scene is adorable - one of my favorites! The way Magnus, in all his centuries of life, felt insecure and reacted with a hint of possessiveness over Alec, and Alec’s smile upon realizing it. The humor in the scene only elevated it. Magnus’ face when he said “you think he’s handsome?” and Alec’s confusion on what was happening. Adorable! Of course the episode had to end with Magnus bleeding and having a seizure, terrifying Alec after they’d just happily agreed to move in together. Doh.

You're gonna love this show even more, mark my words :D And don't tell me you're not having fun, I distinctly remember someone bashing her head on the wall quite recently because of how much fun she was having :D The ending, guys! My first watch was along the lines of they are moving together, omg, I'm so happy I could die... wait, wtf is happening?! Just kill me now. I'll repeat, this show gives and then takes away. The writers are sadist. As for Heidi, I'm conflicted. I never liked Maya, she annoys me most of the time and I love Alec and really like Simon. So them disapproving of Maya's actions threw me for a loop. But I'm glad Heidi is dead and she did that to herself. If she didn't try too kill Maya she would still live. So as much as it pains me to admit I'm team Maya on this one.

Resolving Heidi in this ep was a good move, in my mind she was more annoying than a good villain. Also at the end there, Magnus reverted to his native tongue he was in so much pain. He said “my head. please help me. it hurts.” in Indonesian
