Anne with an "E" 3x10 REACTION; this is the best day of my life.

I was SO satisfied with this ending, especially for a show that was cancelled and didn't have time to plan out a perfect ending. It felt like a complete story (even if I would KILL for more), I don't feel like we ended with a huge cliffhanger and I can move forward with this story. I had no reason to worry, everything worked out exactly how it should've and I was thrilled with the conversations being had in this episode. The only thing I would've wanted was a nice ending for Ka'kwet. I understand this is probably something they had to cut, but I would've liked to know how that turned out! All in all, I loved this show so much and I will be rewatching this until forever! 🩶

this is so great!! you absolutely challenged him!! I was so glad to see that he made the right decision on his own! you're oprobably right about them thinking maybe Ka'kwet's story could've been moved onto season 4 if it had been renewed! Thank you so much for telling me more about what is was like in Canada, I had no idea!! and I'm quite glad that they stuck to it being accurate to how it actually was! 🩶

I’m taking credit for Gilbert being upfront with Winnie. 🤣 LOL. My comment on your ep 9 post subliminally challenged him, from here, 120+ years in the future, and he did the absolutely right thing by Winnie, himself, and Anne. What a little legend he is! I’m assuming the writers weren’t yet sure if Netflix would renew them, so it makes sense that some storylines, eg Ka’kwet’s, didn’t conclude in the finale and could be picked up in an S4. I guess they wanted a positive tone to the episode, especially with A and G finally getting together, and Ka’kwet’s ending, though sad, was realistic and was the experience for many Indigenous children then. Colonised countries like Canada, and here in Australia, were governed or formerly governed and therefore heavily influenced by the Brits (France also, for Canada) and assimilation policies involved removing children from their families and housing them in children’s homes/schools in order to deny them their culture and language in favour of raising them like British/European white kids, rather than “savages”. Savage, being a word used by Rachel and the Pastor in the show, was a common word (among others) used by non-indigenous people to describe Indigenous peoples living in their own lands, which were taken over and made British colonies. Various assimilation policies continued through most of the 1900s. I thought I’d offer some history about the topic for anyone interested. I’ve seen several AnnE reactors who also, understandably, hoped for a happy ending for Ka’kwet. I reckon though that if the show wrote it that way, they would have received backlash for re-writing or denying history. Also, considering the show included the storyline in the first place (I doubt it’s in the books, but I’m not 100% on that), the writers would have done their research and made efforts to avoid criticisms. I think they did a good job with a sensitive topic. I wish we got more seasons, but it’s also nice to have special, near perfect shows of only 2 or 3 seasons so we can easily rewatch and love them all over again.

I hate it when I feel emotions/j No that was actually an incredible finale. I am so happy that we got so many happy endings all around. I wish we knew what happened to Ka'Kwet, I like to think she made it home <3

I 10000% agree!! I so wish we had the opportunity to see how she would've planned for the show to go if we had those extra seasons. I'm so gutted that it was cancelled, especially now that I've finished!! 🩶

I'm so excited to watch this!! An impeccably timed post - it's 7:30 am here, so I'm only barely conscious but I'm making a coffee and will soon be settled on the couch to watch this before heading out to brunch.

Loved everything about the finale! But I think that the show had so much more potential and if Netflix had renewed it for another season (according to Moira she planned 5 seasons) it would have get better and better.
