Young Royals 3x6 REACTION; I need to be sedated.

The journey this episode took me on! I want to start with a disclaimer that I did listen to you guys and watched this with the English [CC]. I screen record separately so that's why it looks a little different, but I did as you guys said so thank you for that!! I was so scared for my life throughout this episode. it was pain, followed by more pain, followed by a little sprinkle of more pain, and then surprise, more pain before there was even a sliver of potential happiness. I am SO happy that Wille was able to fully feel comfortable having an adult conversation with his parents about how he didn't want to be King and it was literally something he just never wanted and had nothing to do with anyone else. MAJOR SLAY. and then he went and got his man 🥰 there was so much to love about this show and I said so much of that in the wrap up but I just want to thank you all for voting on this show to win because I needed this so badly in my life!

Anyway - as I said in the video, let me know if you'd like to see me watch this with my sister and get her reaction for you guys 👀

Young Royals 3x6 REACTION; I need to be sedated.

Comments

they way he was able to have that conversation so calmly and clearly with his parents in the car shows the incredible growth his character has gone through during this show and I was close to tears just seeing him stand up for himself and his wants! ahhhh chills. yes, I agree, Wille never wanted that life so I think he would've eventually made that decision, but I am so happy he has simon there with him and was able to get out so much sooner! I loved the scene of the 4 of them driving away, I'm going to cry just thinking about it! I love this show and I'm actually so emotional over it all over again reading these comments 🤣🩶

Ryann Rodkey

you're so right! it did really so earned! I totally get why you wanted to, I was writhing in pain this season LMAO you wanted to put me out of my misery 🤣 I'm so with you, the felice/Sara storyline was one of my favorites, I loved seeing the journey that a friendship can take and it still being the one that's best for you, even when one of you messes up. I'm so happy they were able to fix it and come back together! yes! I was shaking in my boots when he threw away the snow globe. I was like 'SOMETHING IS HAPPENING. I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT YET." 🤣 they do such a great job of foreshadowing but also not so much that you just know exactly what's going to happen which is just excellent! 🩶

Ryann Rodkey

thank you for watching along with me!! it really is so addictive! 🩶

Ryann Rodkey

I'm so not ready for this doc. it's gonna mess me up so bad 🤣

Ryann Rodkey

you're so right! those two as the leads was such a brilliant choice! I can't imagine this show being as incredible if it wasn't for the way they played their characters! 🩶

Ryann Rodkey

I am so happy that Wille was free, it's what he's wanted all along and the fact that he was able to have that makes me so happy for him! and yes! that's why I was so happy that he told simon right away it was for himself, simon also needed to hear that it was what Wille wanted for himself! I was getting so emotional when they were singing Simon's song 😭 it meant so much! omg love that, slay in your fashion endeavors Wille!

Ryann Rodkey

that line was SO PAINFUL. I felt like I got hit by a truck 🤣

Ryann Rodkey

I'm so happy that you watched and cried along with me! thank you!! can't wait to see/hear what my sister thinks! 🩶

Ryann Rodkey

ahhhh awesome! I'm so excited to watch her make fun of my love(obsession?simping?) for Omar 🤣🩶

Ryann Rodkey

right right, this makes sense! in my brain, Wille and simon live happily ever after and are thriving 🤣 I can't bear thinking of it any other way lmao 🩶

Ryann Rodkey

YES you said it so well! I would physically feel the pain and joy as if I was involved in any way 🤣

Ryann Rodkey

this has me so intrigued.... maybe I should save that google search until I'm filming it 🤣

Ryann Rodkey

how could anyone NOT fall in love with these characters!? I'm so obsessed 🤣 also - not shameful at all. I'm about to be so annoying to every single person in my life about this show lmao yes! the story that this show told was so well thought out and executed so all the props go to Lisa for having it mapped out! I was on the edge of my seat until the end! Thank you so much for watching with me! I honestly can't wait to see the doc and honestly I'm so curious as to what my sister will think of it 🤔

Ryann Rodkey

omg! that makes that scene feel so much sweeter knowing they were just talking! 😭 right!? I never would've guessed that that wasn't at least lightly scripted, incredible! 🩶

Ryann Rodkey

FRANCES TAKE ME WITH YOU 🤣 I loved the parallels this show had throughout all three seasons! it was such a beautiful story with characters who felt so real with the way they were flawed! ugh, I'm so sad I'll never be able to see it for the first time again, but I'm so happy that this show is in my life now! 🩶

Ryann Rodkey

yes! I will be watching the documentary and I am so excited to see it!! I totally agree with everything you said and thank you for watching with me! 🩶

Ryann Rodkey

omg I love this! I can't wait to dive into seeing some reactions of it myself now that I've seen it all and I'm so excited to see what my sister thinks of it! 🩶

I think releasing all those pent up emotions toward his parents, and then losing Simon, really made Wilhelm grow up. He accepted accountability for his actions, but also it allowed him to reevaluate what was most important to him, and really face some decisions he had been avoiding. Perhaps most importantly, he was able to finally communicate his needs and those decisions in a more mature, rational way. Season 3 saw Wille realizing how much being a Royal had poisoned his whole family. Meeting Simon made him realize there could be more to life. Wilhelm’s whole journey this entire show imho was about deciding the life he wants to live. I do believe that he would have eventually given up the crown, even if he’d never met Simon. I just think Simon expedited that decision, because Wille realized sooner what he COULD have. As my man Boris said: “We can’t choose who we’re born as, but we can choose how we want to live our lives.” That’s it, that’s the show. And now they are FREE. Happiness is seeing Hillerska and Royal duties in your rear view mirror. The 4 true besties riding off into the sunset together, I can’t imagine a better ending. Now Wille and Simon get to start over essentially, and fall in love all over again. Edvin said on a podcast recently that he hopes they kept driving until they ran out of gas, maybe to Denmark or Germany for the summer. The fun part is that at least we know they are finally in a better place, and can imagine whatever future we want for them now.

The number of times this season I wanted so badly to tell you it was gonna be okay!! They took us to hell and back, which made the ending feel so so EARNED. Rewatching the finale is so much more enjoyable bc you can really appreciate all the threads & relationships being tied up beautifully. I really loved both Sara and Felice’s storylines and journeys this season, and also how they highlighted what it means to be a real friend. That August and Wilhelm moment was so important, and I think crucial for Wille being able to let Erik and the crown go. We even got a Boris and Wilhelm moment during Simon’s Song. And all the callbacks were chefs kiss! You can also see so much foreshadowing for Wille’s decision. Wille throwing away the snow globe Erik gave him after Simon sings “I hope you get to be free,” staring at August during the graduation, August receiving a froggie necklace from the Queen as a gift, and later Wille looking at Simon, and then eyeing August, then going to talk to Simon. Just brilliant!

You are so right that Omar looks good in anything. You will need lots of tissues for the documentary and you need to watch even when the credits start. You have to start reading fan fiction.

Jayne Riley

I loved your reaction I was crying with you and I've seen it lots of times. There is something so addictive to this show. I have been obsessed with the show and Omar for about two years now and I still can't get over it.

Jayne Riley

Loved your reactions to this series and by all means watch it with your sister and let us see it. My deepest thought about this whole show is that I hope the casting directors were well paid. Picking Edvin and Omar for the lead roles was pure genius.

Dennis Verner

It's so good, right? Wilhelm's "Hope you have a nice summer" I've seen freak people out. LOL. I've been watching season 1 and 2 Young Royals crack lately just to laugh. "No petting" Wilhelm even wanted to even be prince let alone King, you're right there.

Pam R

i had not been so emotional over a series finale in a long time until i watched this. so many amazing things. wille finally becoming free was the ending we wanted and needed. and we got it. for the first time ever, wille looks into the camera with a smile. his hair is all messy and his shirt unbuttoned. he is the embodiment of freedom and happiness now. i am SO glad that they had wille abdicate for himself and not simon. wille has never wanted to live a royal life and has felt so trapped, he needed to realize this for himself and do it for himself. wille telling simon that he learns from him in ep 4...and he goes and tells his parents in the car the same words simon told him about the monarchy. love it. the students singing simon's song that got scrapped in s2 was one of my favorite moments ever. simon has always been an outcast at the school, so the students finally showing him some care and love is everything. plus the fact that he expressed that he was losing his interest in music this season because of all the stress he was enduring, and the students doing this helped bring back his love for it. fun fact: edvin said that he imagines that wille would go on to do a career in fashion!

Roj

Tears in my eyes again. I was feeling the same way as you do, felt my heart breaking and then healing. The finaly was so well done! Thanks a lot for your amazing reactions throughout the 3 seasons! Also all in for the reactions with your sister! Would love to see that :)

Emy

Haven't started the actual reaction yet but would be so up for a rewatch with your sister watching the first time. Love the show so much more people watching it for the first time the better.

Pam R

I figure that Wille is still a Prince but in a reduced capacity. Similar to what Prince Harry as the British Monarch spare has done. Now imagining the (racial/xenophobic/classist/homophobic) backlash that Simon still gets for 'taking' Wille away from the Royal Court the way that Meghan gets backlash. Then again this is Sweden, they're not as crazy about their royal family as the British and the British press are. Also at least going forward, Simon and Wille are in it together and are on the same page. They're both braver together and I see Wille making statements in support of Simon eventually and perhaps when he's older getting more active in charity work.

Dionne Lakey

Oh if you like Omar in white, then Google "omar rudberg elle galan 2022" for, umm, him in white.

Dionne Lakey

Yes to the rewatch - you'll love the experience so much. You learn so much more on rewatches. It really is a comfort show even with all the angst. This show makes you earn those good feelings. I think what this show does amazingly well is make you feel like you're one of the two main characters. Some of the events, good and bad, feel like they're happening to you as you watch it.

Dionne Lakey

YAY! you have NOTHING to apologise for. we were all you when we watched it the first time ourselves! it's been an absolute delight and honour to watch you react to this show - because of how obsessed you are with it. most reactors don't fall in love with the characters and the show as much as you did. what a BRILLIANT show it is. it's actually sad how many times ive watched the whole series. it's shameful. though, i'm still not bored of it! i think while a lot of the credit goes to edvin, omar, malte, nikita, frida for their portrayals of the characters so brilliantly - the most credit should go to lisa ambjorn who wrote the series. what an AMAZING script. she put us through torture and an emotional rollercoaster but also made it so profound, so relatable and addictive. she really had everyone going in that final episode. to have the ups and downs that final episode have is pure genius - because i think most people accepted it was over and then the end was just perfect. also, the school closing - i think most people had discounted that from happening since life had gone back to semi-normal in the school in episode 5. i just wish there was more... or we at least knew we'd get another show with edvin and omar acting together in it. thanks once again! cant wait to see your reaction to the doco - it is a good way to ease the pain... if only for an hour or so.

LM-Entertainment Australia

Fun fact: The entire lake scene was improvised by Edvin & Omar. Lisa said the script just basically says they go swimming & talk about their relationship, saying anything & everything they have left to say to each other. Apparently they did several 8-10min takes, so that footage is floating around somewhere *sobs * It’s just so beautiful how well they know their characters and just vibe off each other. The love and pain in that scene was SO palpable. Basically they are both evil, and I will never ever forgive them for making us feel all the things!

AngelaTeacher

First of all: Don’t apologize!! You went through all the emotions. I more so don’t understand people who are not as hooked when they watch YR. You were literally me when I first watched the final episode. I love how invested you are. Picking up the little details, like Wille humming “it takes a fool to remain sane” or the lyrics in Wille’s song about “everything is fake” or when Wille said “I hope you have a nice summer” 😭 The parallels are incomparable to any other show I’ve ever watched. Can’t wait for your YR Forever reaction! And, oh yeah! I’m a hardcore Omar stan. I can totally relate to the pining for him 😂🙈I have tickets for a festival he’s gonna perform at this summer here in Germany. And before that I’ll actually spend my summer holidays in Sweden. And guess where I’m gonna go once I’m there 😉

Frances
