I got that vibe too actually, I didn't feel like her asking was actually accusatory towards lorelai, I was worried about it at first, but once they played their little game with the gift I felt good about that interaction! 🩶

That would have been Lorelai’s graduation year had she gone to college. Rory was born in October 84 while Lorelai was in her junior year of high school. That puts her at an 86 high school graduation year. Add four years for college and you get 1990.
