It's my understanding - and I believe I read this in a post from them - that the Carl route is completed to the end of the week, but that's week 1 of 2. I believe Chase is going to end up staying in Echo longer than he planned.

I know this is a little late, but I haven't been able to sit and read this until now. In the previous update you said that Carl's week was completed. Does that signal the end of the Carl story or can we expect more or perhaps even another VN. Sorry to pry, but the Carl route just seems to end in a strange place if that is truly the end and I may have missed something in the earlier posts where you addressed this.

I'd say that Leo is just a person with deep character flaws. The story would be (to say the least) boring if he weren't. The complexity of their personalties definitely make the characters more interesting and relatable. I'm very interested to see how things go with the other paths too.

Whoa, Dude, slow down there. Chase left Echo and Leo for many reasons, and although those reasons included Leo's numerous character flaws that I don't think any of us deny exist, there was also the town and what it represents - things he despises above all else - and also the opportunities afforded to him by going to Pueblo. I fail to see how Leo's actions make him "a complete and utter douchebag". He didn't lie to Flynn at all about the situation, and he was disingenuous at worst to Jenna, told some minor lies to Carl, and for TJ, well, for TJ, he was a complete liar. That lie is the worst, and I'll agree definitely a reason to be upset over. You also fail to consider that Chase knows about Leo's lies because HE broke Leo's trust. Did he do anything close to what Leo did to the others? No, no he didn't, but going into his phone and reading his private conversations is not at all okay. Chase is at fault for that, and you can't forget it over your frustration with Leo. Finally, I think you should reconsider your choice of the word "abuse". I agree with Richard above - it wasn't abuse on his part. It was manipulative and he lied, but you can't disregard his emotions or motives, nor can you decide on his entire personality based on this. He hasn't shown evidence of any sort of controlling pattern - to the contrary, his hanging out with TJ (and also Kud, but Kud wasn't planned to be there) on Thursday shows that Friday, as I speculated earlier, may well be an isolated incident. Let's wait and see before we decide to give him Yelp reviews of "a complete and utter douchebag" and "a terrible person".

Actually as you may recall on the first day Chase mentioned he had planned to visit Echo for his project and Leo suggested have the others come along for a reunion of sorts. I'd say that it wasn't until after everything went pear shaped that he started looking for more one on one time, and we can't know yet what he has planned for the long term. I think Juan's earlier point about Leo wanting one day to themselves is probably right and that he will try to patch things up with the others in the next few days. And I really can't see haw anything Leo has done up to this point could be considered abuse, so we will have to agree to disagree on that point.

Yes, actually, telling it straight up to their face would've been better. Simply because then you're at least admitting to everyone that you're a complete and utter douchebag and they can be rid of you. If he wanted Chase all to himself all along then maybe he could've left the rest completely out of it and simply asked Chase to come back. Oh wait, he did and Chase said no? Well I'm sorry to say, but no means no. It's as simple as that. Could Chase have handled the end of the relationship better? Yes, yes he could've, nobody is arguing against that. That does not mean at all that Leo has the right to do any of what he did here. Any relationship is founded on trust, and this update has shown that Leo is willing to break EVERYONE'S trust to get Chase back, including Chase's own trust. Not only that, but everything considered it's very much likely that Chase's very reason for breaking up with Leo were his constant outbursts and his sheer overprotectiveness. You can try to rationalize Leo's actions in any way you want, but at the end of the day he's abusing everyone to get what he wants, and that, by default, makes him a terrible person.

Honestly, with what Chase did to Leo, I can hardly blame him for wanting him all to himself in order to win him back. I admit he went about it the wrong way, but still. The guy just wants to know for sure one way or another.

Taki and Dude, you seem to have a severe bias against Leo and view everything he does in a negative light so I wont try to change your mind but I do have a question for you. If Leo had gone with a more direct approach and simply told the others that he wanted the day to spend with Chase alone that would have been better? After all the implied concept from the beginning was a reunion of old friends, it would come across as selfish to not hang out together as much as possible. Juan has a point too about their history being shaky at times. Leo admitted that he let his temper get away from him at times and could have handled those situations better, but keep in mind that to a wolf loyalty is the most important virtue someone can possess, and that most of the cases we've seen his more aggressive nature is when someone in his "pack" was threatened. In my personal take on things, their relationship was (and still is) very one sided, Chase never cared about Leo as much as Leo cared about him, which was shown especially when he walked away without looking back and never gave an explanation or chance at reconciliation. Leo can't move on because in his view the relationship never really ended, and Chase never had the decency to step up and give him the closure that was merited by how things went down, so ultimately he is as much to blame for Leo's actions as anyone.

Not sure if you've seen the short stories, but the breakup situation between Chase and Leo involved a prank that made Leo think Chase was cheating on him before Chase left him for no reason. Leo is being very manipulative and controlling, yes, but this is borne out of years of fear and regret on his part. He's not doing anything to harm Chase, and furthermore, we've an indication that this is not something Leo would do all the time - he gladly hung out with Kud and TJ on Thursday, and I believe he only wanted Friday to have with Chase so that he could convince him to come back. Let's not make snap judgements until we see how he acts on Saturday.

"People in love do crazy things" yeah, that's the way a lot of people justify the actions of abusers. There's a reason Chase himself felt violated at the end of that scene - because he basically was. Leo lied to Chase and to his friends about everything just so that he could have Chase to himself. Nevermind that Chase is a living being with emotions. The difference between this and the Carl situation is because one of them involves lying to everyone, the other doesn't.

Yeah, manipulating and shuning everyone away and lying to the person you "love" is totally comparable to secluding yourself from the others by your own free will. I will not give the benefit of doubt for someone who set a bunch of red flags and did boderline sociopathic things.

Juan has the right of it, It is more of waiting to hear Leo's reasoning than trying to justify his actions, what he did was wrong but people in love do crazy things. And lets be realistic here Carl and Chase did the exact same thing by sequestering themselves in the mansion and avoiding the others for the whole week they were just considerably less subtle about it.

I don't think it's so much about the benefit of the doubt as it is about hearing what Leo has to say for himself. He'll probably seem more sympathetic once we had what he has to say - for instance, can you imagine his terror at possibly losing Chase again? That kind of influence can be enough to make anybody irrational and do such things.

So much hate for Leo in these comments, seriously people lets give him the benefit of the doubt here and wait to hear his side before condemning him outright. That said, this update felt considerably shorter than Carl's I realize it is one less day but it just seemed like by comparison less was happening all around. I did like that this update was vastly more upbeat and fun (Carl's was downright depressing at times) but still interposed those moments of intensity that make this story so compelling. Kudzu is an intriguing character, though younger than I had initially pictured him. I hope he sticks around for a while so we can learn more about him. I look forward to seeing what comes next.

The only thing I didn't like about the update was the implied sex scene between Leo and Chase. It was a bit too short and didn't really explain exactly what they were doing. Hopefully there will be more intimate scenes in the future. The one in the bathroom where they're cleaning up after the fight with Clint was very well done.

Great update. The new sprites for Kud and Raven look very nice. Kudzu and Clint are both very interesting characters, and I hope we learn more about them ingame or a short story (Speaking of which, looking forward to that Flynn one). Liked the new bits of the town's history we're learning and the Chase/Leo story is getting significantly more intense. Also, these cliffhangers are gonna be the death of me :p
