What is Echo: Route 65?
Echo: Route 65 is a 70,000 word prequel visual novel for the ongoing horror/romance Echo story created by Howly and HTBH games. The purpose of this project is to explore a single defining night in the lives of six of Echos young inhabitants: Chase the Otter, Leo the Wolf, Carl the Ram, TJ the Lynx, Flynn the Gila, and Jasmynn (Jenna) the Fennec Fox. Players are able to chose from four varying routes based upon their preferred character of confidence.
The story starts on November 1st, 2008 with a 15 year-old Chase as the main character. A shameful development is plaguing Chase, and rumors of a bizarre Day of the Dead party in an abandoned manufacturing building along desert Route 65 serves as the focal point of this visual novel.

I don't know what more to say other than I don't want to be alone right now. I mean, the ambient sounds, the story, the artwork, the EVERYTHING so far (yeah, sure, there are some typos (whinges, instead of winces or maybe whining)).... Leo: Ready to press play? Chase: Ready. What a great cliffhanger! If anyone reading this has played Echo but hasn't become a Patron yet, what the hell are you waiting for?! If you think Echo has been good so far, wait until you get your paws on Echo: Route 65! Keep up the awesome work, Howly, McSkinny, and the rest of the team! I await the next updates, with bated breath!

2018-01-10 19:37:17 +0000 UTCHaving just completed all of the routes I can definitely say HOHOHOOOO MY GOD THAT WAS SO GOOD. Seeing everyone's developing relationships and characters that would put them on the paths that we know them on today is absolutely so wild. And the little variances in routes too was so good to see, as were the surprises at the end of all of them. McSkinny you did a fine job on these characters and I can't wait to see what else you bring to the table in future updates

Well the spooks I got from this, playing it at midnight...I don't take to horror too well so that little short screen shot in this...along with the photo that Carl took at the end of Jenna's route kind of got to me....it doesn't help that the game crashed after it showed the photo.

2018-01-10 07:51:51 +0000 UTCI've only played through one of the routes, but my (short, because im pretty awful at writing) first impressions are: -holy shit this was amazing -it did a great job of fleshing out some parts of the main characters that i had never noticed/picked up on before -very good pacing and use of visuals (like with the figure briefly popping up on the phone -McSkinny is a very good addition to the team, and I am very excited about what the future holds for this project!!
