Fake Patrons

If you hadn't noticed, the funding for this project dropped significantly. This is because it was brought to our attention that many of the higher-pledging patrons were fake. After looking through payments and sending out messages, we've deleted the most suspicious accounts from our Patreon.  We do this mainly so that our numbers aren't inflated, and so that exclusive content isn't being leaked, which is unfair to patrons who are actually helping this project.

We're not completely sure how we'll deal with this in the future. Likely, we'll send out messages to higher-paying patrons to confirm that they are indeed real. Anyway, hoping Patreon can find a way to fix this problem in the future.  Also, if you feel your pledge was unfairly deleted please message us and we'll take care of the problem.

A solution I read somewhere else was to send a message to high-paying patrons, wait for their reply, then send them the promised content. However it's slower and somewhat annoying (not to mention involves more effort on your part), so yeah, let's hope Patreon comes up with something to fix that. Maybe some sort of flagging system against patrons that pledge a lot of money then retract it, or a money penalty?

Wow, that really sucks. Why someone would make a fake pledge is beyond me. Anyways, keep up the great work. You got almost 800 dollars per update within the first month, I bet by november you will have 1500 or 2000 dollars per update.

I'll never understand what those people hope to accomplish with fake pledges, this is not the first project I've seen have this problem either. Hopefully we'll see less of this in the future, and I agree with Azure this project will bounce back quickly.

I was wondering about that and a bit worried. Though I'm glad you guys decided on the proper course of action. With a project like this i know you guys will make your funding back in no time.
