Episodes 79-83 are all filler, though events in episode 82 are referenced later despite never occurring in the manga. While 83 is also filler, it does provide a bit of context for 84 that would otherwise be missing if you skipped directly from 78 to it. As others mentioned, the start of the tournament is where things really start to pick up and it doesn't really let off the gas until the filler episodes which close out the series.
