Two seasons' worth of character development… is not enough to undo a lifetime of familial trauma, gaslighting, brainwashing, manipulation, propaganda. A horrible outcome, but much more believable than the "easy" alternative every viewer expected. Azula is a master fearbender and she always knows exactly what buttons to push in people. If that was possible, she would've sent the Katara-in-trouble vision to interrupt Aang's training herself.

2024-08-20 16:10:55 +0000 UTCOpposing to what we all expected to happen, it really is shocking to see Zuko choosing his sisters side, but taking his history into perspective, I think it makes sense. I believe Zuko saying, that he changed, is him saying, that he wont let anybody else determine his destiny anymore. Now its only himself deciding what path he will pursue. And in this moment his genuine decision is to take Azulas side, whether we like it or not :(
