Added 2023-12-09 15:39:25 +0000 UTCGOKU VS KRILLIN TIME. I had no idea that they actually fought. I will say, it wasn't the most exciting fight in the world which is probably why i never heard of it but I still think it was fun and it was nice to see them together:)

2024-02-20 00:37:23 +0000 UTCthe whole point of cutting between goku and krillin fighting and roshi and tien talking was to show that roshi was handing over the job of stopping goku and krillin from winning, and how difficult that job will be considering how powerful they both are, i loved the cuts and thought it added emotion and tension.

2024-02-01 21:43:32 +0000 UTCMy opinion of the time was that I was interested enough in the Roshi/Tien deal that I didn't hate it, but I still would have preferred the cutaway to have its own time before or after the fight, not in the middle. I still really enjoyed the Roshi/Tien scene though since this is really one of the breakthrough moments that pushes Tien "to the good side"

I feel like the fight itself was exciting, its the soap opera cutaways to Roshi and Tien that sapped the energy. This feels like an editorial choice because Toriyama usually values the story woven into the fight enough that he wouldn't cut away in a fight like this. Not in this era anyway.
