Just checked. Hey, you´re right. The episode Wedding Plans was filler. The promise between Chi chi and Goku in the manga was vague though: - Hey Goku. Once we get older, will you come take me as a bride? - Take you as what? - Ohhh, come. You know what I am talking about. - Not really... if you are going to give me something, i´ll come take it though. (what did Chi Chi make from that? Taking her innocence and therefore as bride?) ^^

2024-05-22 13:10:58 +0000 UTCPeople think those things only because he is emotionally distant people need to understand Goku's thought process which is why they should look up "Esfp" Goku may be a flawed hero and distant when it comes to things that people find to be good fatherly behavior but he truly does care and will do anything for his family. But of course, he is far from an ideal husband for most women, and he is definitely not an emotional support animal. But overall Goku "in Z at least" is very mature given the circumstances he grew up in. His biggest L is the fact that he fails to see the present problems and the emotional effects of the decisions he makes.

2024-05-20 22:21:34 +0000 UTCmaybe that didn't happen in the manga and was anime filler. if so that would explain why its ignored. Toriyama didnt make the anime.

2024-05-19 01:11:58 +0000 UTCIts shocking he didnt figure out who she is. He doesn't meet a lot of people. You would think he could go thru the very few girls he has met and narrow it don't since almost all of them are already present...

2024-05-19 01:04:12 +0000 UTCI'm going to defend Goku a bit here on the broader part of his marriage and his kids. Yes it is a funny joke how Goku is a "bad father" and abridged does expand on that in some pretty funny ways. He isn't perfect, but he really doesn't deserve that reputation he gets. I mean think about it. First of all, he gets married and spends his entire time with his wife and eventually son until they are born and for all intents and purposes is a good father and husband during that period it seems. Then, his son gets kidnapped, and the world is threatening to be destroyed [including his wife] and he immediately does everything including sacrificing his own life to save his kidnapped son, and what would eventually be his wife and the rest of the world. He gave everything he had for his family and in real life any father and husband that did the same would be regarded as a hero and more. Now does he get to go rest in peace though? No, he has to instead spend his entire time dead doing nothing but training non-stop to save his wife, kids, and the world AGAIN only to get beaten to near death saving his family again [obviously he saves more but I am focusing on his family here]. This guy hasn't gotten a moment of peace and rest just nothing but fighting and dying or near dying to save his family. Then just after being in a body cast for ages, he has to literally go to another planet to save his son who is trying to revive all his friends from an evil alien space emperor. Now, does he let the dragon take him back right away? No, he took a few months to get home instead. Gosh let the guy rest for a little while, plus he had some stuff to get done. Then he gets back, basically gets a "hey you are gonna die now" report from Doctor Trunks [who luckily did have medicine] and learns he now has to save the world, again in three years. So yeah he spent 3 years with his family but it did involve training to literally save their life along with his own. Not ideal 3 years spent but hey it has to be done. Once again basically a hero and doing what needed to be done as a good father. Also then keep in mind when they do get there he lives for a while in excruciating pain that would kill anyone else since the heart virus mutated and he had to endure the new version. And then yes, there is the Cell fight. Yes, people like to mock it but this is where this is a pretty unique fantasy situation. For one Goku wasn't just hiding behind his son. He would have been much happier to defeat Cell himself if he could of course, but sending his son in was the only way to save the world, and once again his family and future son in the womb as well. And, also like any good father when the time came he did jump on the cell grenade once again saving his family dying a hero. So he is dead, again, let the dang guy die in peace. But no, everyone is mad he won't be wished back. Well it isn't even that he wanted to finally die in peace he actually had some reasons behind it that had some sense. You may disagree if it was actually true, but he was doing what he thought was best for his family in the big picture even there. Then he comes back from the dead years later even when he was dead for a day. Then even when dead and came back he goes and tries to stop an evil that presumably will save his family and so on so forth almost dies to revive his now dead family after being killed by Kid Buu and such. Man spent his entire life since marrying ChiChi either with his family, dying for his family, training to save his family [even when sometimes dead], or dead as a hero who saved his family. Was he a perfect person? No not at all, but he did everything a father and husband could wish to do for his family and more given the circumstances. And then he spends the next ten years with his family when there are times of peace. He isn't out looking for violence, he spends it with his family. I'll give you one thing. The last episode of Z. Everything about Uub as a character was poorly thought out and a mess and I honestly hardly consider that bit cannon anyway for how bad that whole thing is. It hardly even is now with super, even if super does slightly reference it maybe eventually happening. Uub is just a mess of a creation. But ok, so maybe after 10 years with his family he left for a bit to train a kid. Oh well he isn't perfect and also maybe the guy did earn a bit of leeway here. So in the end my point is, no, Goku is not a bad father or husband and even super-human powers aside, is one any wife or child would be blessed to have. Yes it is funny to portray him that way in abridged but to actually call him that in regards to the non-abridged series is really missing the point.

2024-05-17 13:15:53 +0000 UTCJust the wind got her? Melon-san that is the same punch Mr. Popo or Mutaitodid on Goku. The spiritual energy surrounding it created the shock that knocks you back. Still debated this can be done somewhat in real life. Bit surprised Roshi couldn´t fully comprehended. He did a similar thing with a palm strike as Jackie Chun against Krillin. Though i guess it wasn´t thesame because Piccolo claimed it belonging to Demon/Namekian family.

2024-05-17 04:52:26 +0000 UTCSigh. As entertaining it is, this fight shouldn´t even take place. because when Goku left Chi chi he already told her and Ox King after the ruined banquet in his honor he thought wedding/ marriage means food. So there was no misunderstanding left. They seperated as friends and Chi Chi just hoped to see him again. i guess Toriyama again forgot about it?

2024-05-17 04:43:13 +0000 UTCI didn't like Chi Chi early on either from Z, but as you get through the show she does begin to explain herself a bit better and you can see where she's coming from and by the end of Z you kinda like her again.

2024-05-16 23:26:29 +0000 UTCKrillin actually consistently give better performances than he's supposed to, even if he's consistently considered a weakling (from that point on). What he did in that episode was neat, but even in the saiyans/freezer arcs he exceeded expectations. Unlike someone we know.

2024-05-16 06:43:22 +0000 UTCWho knew Goku could be so smooth? This is also one of my favorite fights from the series, Chichi was intentionally given an original style of fighting and it really shows! I suspect the reason Roshi called it the hovering space trick was due to how it's translated from the Japanese dub. They don't simply call it "flight" in Japanese. It's formally known as the Bukuujutsu or "Sky Dance Technique" so maybe they were trying to keep the localization in line with that? Hovering was really all there was back in those days, being able to move even faster or truly "fly" required immense control, so it was considered a much more advanced technique. (Another fun nerd fact is that the Kanji "Sora" meaning Sky is used in the Sky Dance technique's name 舞空, but this is one other very rare instance where 空 Sora is read like "Kuu" just like in Goku's name which also uses the same Kanji 悟空. Thinking about it that way, I don't blame the Announcer for misreading it! Kanji can be very confusing sometimes even to native Japanese speakers) Also in the original Japanese version, Oolong recognizes Chichi not just from memory, but also by hearing her speak! Chichi grew up in the mountains far from the cities just like Goku! So they both speak in a less formal manner and are meant to sound like a "country bumpkin" of sorts! In that way, Goku has a unique way of speaking! (They tried to make up for it by making him say things like "ain't" and "y'all" more often in the English dub for DB: Super but I suppose it might've been too little too late since English speaking audiences were already so used to hearing him not speak like that). But it's really sweet that Goku and Chichi share that same accent or dialect! And that's how Oolong figures it out, as he states that fact outright in the manga. I always thought it was a cute detail.

2024-05-16 01:35:56 +0000 UTCIt really wasn't much of a fight. One hit and she just went down. Then we got married, I put a baby in here, and now she just stays at home, cooks my dinner, and raises our kid.

2024-05-16 01:22:42 +0000 UTCYamcha, Yamcha, Yamcha. Let me tell you the honest way to say it that still makes you look bad, but not this bad. Look, she'd just tried to kill me on site with her boomerang blade thing. I was trying to steal the Dragon ball that you and Goku were after and figured that it'd be easier if the Ox King wasn't trying to kill me. Since she kept babbling about boys and romance I leaned into my desert thief ways and manipulated her.
